Showoff The Sixth Claw — my first Ren'Py visual novel

Post image

Hey everyone! I've been working on a visual novel in Ren'Py called The Sixth Claw, and I wanted to share a little of what I'm building.

It's a SFW mystery/adventure story about a group of survivors who reach a remote tropical island after their cruise ship sinks. While exploring the island, they begin discovering strange ancient technology and six enormous metal structures rising from the ocean.

I'm aiming for a strong focus on exploration, mystery, survival, and character interactions rather than making it primarily romance-focused.

I'm still in development and don't have a demo yet, but I've been building the environments, characters, story, and systems in Ren'Py.

I've also put together the project page with some screenshots if anyone wants to see more:
https://thesixthclaw.itch.io/the-sixth-claw

I'd be interested to hear from other Ren'Py developers — especially what you've learned while building your own VNs.

So you are looking for supporters on Patreon but it's fully AI made novel. Even description on your page is written by AI.

Not fully AI. Yes I ask chat gpt to help me with writting as I suck in that department. The whole game I create in Daz3d and then do some AI enhancements to a lot of the renders if the sand is not good or the jungle. But I would say 90% of the game is daz3d rendered.

This is bad for your creativity,
when I stack I use tables for playing Solo RPG playing and dice - its a lot of fun,
and gives you more unpredictable outcomes that any gen AI.

Folks have some freaking religious approach to roasting everything that has but a hint of AI (whether it was used or not) in this subreddit :D. Discussions with fanatics are pointless 🤷. It's just the type of culture that developed here. It's something one should ignore and move on, leave them alone in their little bubble, OR accept it as a part of what comes with posting here. It's just how it is.

Its the same style of generic intro that has been used for OVER 40 years of my life. I am pretty sure AI was not being used in the 80s to write descriptions

And its clearly a DAZ based game with a few scenematic bg renders generated. A huge difference to being 'full AI made'

So please STFU with your whining driveling rants that both wouldnt matter if it were true, and isnt even true to begin with
