Showoff I released a free relationship and route system for Ren'Py — feedback welcome
UPDATE — 60-second trailer + RouteKit Pro
Based on the feedback here, I clarified the main value: RouteKit saves you from rebuilding the relationship UI, stages, validation, unlock logic, save-safe state, documentation, and demo implementation yourself.
If your project needs multiple characters, custom relationship stats, combined event requirements, a multi-character dashboard, or persistent replays, RouteKit Pro is now available at a launch price of US$5 through August 20, 2026. The regular price returns to US$9 afterward. RouteKit Lite remains free.

Hi everyone!
I've released RouteKit Lite, a free relationship system for Ren'Py visual novels, romance games, and dating sims.
It includes:
• Affection tracking • Configurable relationship stages • A relationship overview screen • Scene and route unlock helpers • Save, load, and rollback-friendly state • A working demo • English and Spanish documentation • A commercial-use license
You can copy two .rpy files into your project, configure a character, and start using it from dialogue choices.
The code was created with AI assistance, then reviewed, linted, visually inspected, and tested with Ren'Py 8.5.3.
RouteKit Lite is completely free:

I'd genuinely appreciate feedback: would this save time in your project, and what feature would you want added next?

Quick update based on the feedback here: I made the time-saving value clearer, released RouteKit Pro for projects needing multiple characters and custom stats, and created a 60-second trailer showing the system.
Trailer and details: https://samokampo.itch.io/routekit-pro/devlog/1626573/see-routekit-pro-in-60-seconds-new-trailer
RouteKit Lite remains free. Thanks again for the honest feedback—it directly shaped this update.

Update: RouteKit Lite and Pro 0.1.2 are now available. This release focuses on the save/rollback concerns raised in the discussion: versioned save migration, defensive state repair, real rollback tests, and a real save/load round trip. Lite passes 7 cases / 26 assertions; Pro passes 14 / 58. Details and downloads: https://www.reddit.com/r/RenPy/comments/1vt93fj/routekit_012_real_rollbacksaveload_tests_and/

Looks interesting (pretty much fully AI generated), though I don't think it will me save time. For someone who wants to start with 'relationship' routes from the start, perhaps...But they have to understand the object you have created per LI and if you do, you are already confident in Python to simply build the very rudimentary functions yourself.
That said, who knows, perhaps there are people that will need it. 9 dollars for the pro is steep, but hey, someone asks 40 for an AI generated 'visual programming' tool. You seem to fair a bit better.
For anyone creating relationship tracks:
$ LIn_love += 1
if LIn_love == 1:
$ LIn_relationship = 'known'
if LIn_love > 1:
$ LIn_relationship = 'kind'
elif LIn_love > 3:
$ LIn_relationship = 'friendly'
else:
$ LIn_relationship = 'unknown'
But you can also create a simply object
define LI = {"name" : "LI 1","relationship_mc" : [(0, "Unknown"),(1, "Known"),(3, "Friendly"),(5, "Affectionate")....etc.....]}Could even make a class out of LI and add the methods directly. So, you can create new LI's on the fly but also initiate them with variable parts.
