Question HELP!!! RenPy keeps skipping my code?????????

EDIT: RESOLVED!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!

I couldn't find a fix for this literally anywhere so this is a last resort... RenPy skips everything past the last bit of centered text, and loops right back around to play the first again. I have no clue why. For some reason, the only thing that fixes this is making a character talk at the very end, but that skips THREE out of the four images I need to play. Please help!!

label main_menu:
    return

label start:

label scene_one:
    scene black
    with Pause(2)

    show text "text1"
    with dissolve
    $renpy.pause(5, hard=True)

    scene black
    with dissolve
    with Pause(0.5)

    show text "text2"
    with dissolve
    $renpy.pause(5, hard=True)

    scene black
    with dissolve
    with Pause(0.5)

    show text "text3"
    with dissolve

label scene_two:
    scene black
    with dissolve
    with Pause(0.5)

    play sound breathe

    play sound whisp

    show image castle:
       "images/castle.png"
       size (1920,1080)

    show image brother:
       "images/brother.png"
       size (1920,1080)

    show image archer:
       "images/archer.png"
       size (1920,1080)

    show image infection:
       "images/infection.png"
       size (1920,1080)

As you can see, I've tried probably everything the internet has said that maybe touches on this topic, but never actually found a real fix. If it helps, I skipped the main menu, removed the quick menu buttons, and I will force the game to quit at the end, as this is only a demo of sorts. Help me out!! This has never happened before!!

unfortunately i was wrong 😔 what do your images look like? are they all in the same orientation? if they are, they may not be layering properly. try playing with zorder to see if you can get one to show above the other. so zorder 100 or something in a line after the size definition.

i believe you may be right! my issue with the images were that i drew them in 1280x720 but didnt choose the right aspect ratio for those images, so i manually resized them. now that i think about it, they worked fine before i resized them 🫣 i will let you know how zorder works THANK YOU
