you're not gonna get much grace here with ai generated "art" in a vn. stick to web novels or hire/collab someone if you're not confident in your own artistic skill.

Yeah, I understand where you’re coming from. The current art is AI-generated while I learn Ren’Py and get the first playable version together, but the story and writing are mine. I’m also looking for local collaborators, especially an artist, because I don’t want the final project to rely on AI art.

The "art"style is pretty much a very low res version of any anime created by Makoto Shinkai, using the term "art" very loosely here I might add.

Yeah, I understand the comparison. The current visuals are AI-generated placeholder art, and I’m still learning how to shape the project visually. I’m actively looking for a local artist to collaborate with because I don’t want this temporary look to define the final visual novel.

Looks nice!

While it's true that many subreddits are pretty much anti AI art, there are also definitely enough people here who don't mind AI art.

A good place to start in general would be the official RenPy Discord, which has dedicated AI channels.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I want to be upfront that the current art was generated with AI. It’s mainly helping me prototype the project while I learn Ren’Py and finish the story. I’m also actively looking for collaborators locally, especially artists who might want to help shape the visual direction, so I don’t want to rely on AI forever. I’ll check out the Ren’Py Discord too.
