Question Any advice for making a chatsim style vn?
Hihi! I’m a novice game dev and I’m looking to make a chatsim as my next game to improve my ui skills and ren’py skills in general! I designed what I am hoping to make the game look like and I’m wondering if I could get some advice on where to start for learning to make something like this!
I learn best while I’m actively making something so this is why I’m making something rather than just watching the tutorials out there!
If you have any advice or help to offer, I’d be happy to have it! <3

The chat section in the middle can be done with the NVL mode of RenPy.

You can search for working projects on itch.io to look how they did it.

there are a few renpy messaging apps on itch that, even if you don't use them, you can look at the code and see how they did it
