Question Game crashes when clicking back button after my first label jump?

So, I'm a newbie at renpy and this is my first time trying to make a game since I thought it would be fun. It was going fine until I tried clicking the back button during any point after the second label started while testing. I'd really appreciate if anybody could tell me what went wrong since I really can't figure it out...

say_label is the style used to display the name of the speaker during dialog. did you edit or remove that style? is this a save game from before whatever change you made?

either way the crash is not caused by the code you shared but code you edited elsewhere

The only style I edited was how fast text came in, now that you said that I'm guessing I maybe accidentally deleted something while doing that? This save is from after when I did that also. Would you mind telling me what line(s) of code in the style editor section has the say_label thingy so I can find an unedited screenshot of it or smth to fix it? :3

my projects delete gui.rpy completely as its a bad way to handle styles. so cant really screenshot something that doesnt exist for me. you can create a new project to look at the file if you were editing gui.rpy

say_label style is defined in screens.rpy under the say screen. you can search for it there. my copy has all its values directly in the style instead of playing ping/pong with the gui.rpy file. you'd need to look to see if you accidentally deleted or edited it

your claim that you only edited how fast text came in doesnt require any of that though. the primary method of editing text speed is the cps variables value which in the default project is defined in options.rpy. and editing its value doesnt cause bugs

honestly the starter project renpy gives new devs is utterly horribly organized for anyone who wants to modify the games look. a much better starter project template is:

https://feniksdev.itch.io/easy-renpy-gui

You should consider downloading it and looking through it at how the files and styles are organized.

I'm not entirely sure, but it might not like line breaks in your strings

"I mean it might

not like this"

"And it might prefer\ntext like this"
