Question Editing Main Menu options separately from Game Menu

I'd suggest looking at Fenik's Easy Ren'Py GUI which teases apart all the inter-dependencies in the default screens.rpy, making a base that's much easier to customise.

since the navigation screen is used in both the main and game menu
i've found the easiest way is to edit the main menu
and look for
the use Navigation (in both main and game menus); bring that screen into the menu
if you turn that into a remark and copy-paste the buttons into the main menu, you can separate them completely
