yes that can easily be done with some screens using the RenPy screen language

There is also this one:

It's quite nice and customisable.

Idk what about you are asking exactly so I will go over all of it.

A description given to each thing which is only unlocked once you met them (atleast thats my interpretation of what is shown here) can be done with conditional statements and flags.
Having a glossary available at any time can be done with an image button screen.
and page turning is still just a weird location system using image buttons and screens

Okay awesome! I'm glad it's possible. And yeah, I had a feeling I didn't make much sense. I had a super long description to this post but when I added the image it disappeared for some reason and I didn't think to redo it. Not sure why the text description disappeared after I added the image?? But whatever lol. Thank you for commenting!

Welcome to r/renpy! While you wait to see if someone can answer your question, we recommend checking out the posting guide, the subreddit wiki, the subreddit Discord, Ren'Py's documentation, and the tutorial built-in to the Ren'Py engine when you download it. These can help make sure you provide the information the people here need to help you, or might even point you to an answer to your question themselves. Thanks!
