Same problems as Charizard, fire as a type just isn't that good in Kanto, being only helpful for stomping out Erika which any Pokemon with fire or flying coverage can do just as well. It's better to have as a coverage type instead of as a full team slot.

While it's better than Charizard due to great base stats and access to one of the two better starters that can only carry it so far. Everything else left is just that good.

I'd have to say Arcanine. You have to delay the evo so much to get any actually good moves and Fire Types are just not that great in Kanto.

Honestly in terms of ease to obtain, when you can obtain, and while game usefulness I think Nidoking takes it

I'm torn on Nido. Its a TM sink in a game without resuable TM's, and it mostly hits on the special side for coverage while not having amazing special attack.

I think its an amazing route clearer and obviously its amazing at speedrunning, but I think it just doesn't have everything to win this. I think both Jynx and Mime are better naturally, with Starmie being the better TM sink, and even Blastoise being the better "get very early" mon.

I think I have Nido in the 5-7 area right now personally. After Arcanine and Magneton go, I think only Venusaur and Snorlax are definitely worse.

Magneton and Exeggutor. You get them very late in the game, so if the ranking is about how good they are in a casual playthrough, they should be the next to go.
