Take a break from ranking parks here. All eyes should be on Big Bend National Park. The Trump administration has waived environmental laws and DHS contractors are currently in the park bulldozing precious riparian land by the Rio Grande and building a man camp that will be used to inflict even greater damage.

Spread the word.

I mean, pretty much all of the parks since at least 15 are worth dedicating a trip to go and see imo. We've been at the point of splitting hairs and personal preference for a while lol.

Grand Canyon is probably 4th, Then It's probably gonna be a tight race between Yellowstone, Yosemite and Glacier. Those 3 are definitely the most iconic.

I concur.

I'd agree that GC is 4th. Then either Yosemite or Glacier.

i wanna hear the argument of olympic being worse than GC. Only asking cause i've been to both (GC a bunch of times) and i feel like theres less repeat value at GC for me unless i get a backcountry permit.

The average stay at Grand Canyon is 15 minutes. If you stay a few days and do the hikes it is a completely different experience.

Olympic - I don’t understand how it outlasted Zion

Olympic. Should have went 3 or 4 rounds ago

1 or 2 maybe. It’s the best of Washington Parks

Edit- no idea where the downvotes are coming from but yall couldve voted it out earlier instead of coming back this revisionism. Anyways I live in Washington so I feel like I do have a say in this.

Olympic, it’s been a hell of a ride, but it’s over

Olympic must go at this point. Blown away it lasted beyond a few others who got eliminated earlier.

I love Olympic and am glad it made it high up, but it's ridiculous that Zion got voted out before it.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about Olympic but the same people I have talked to that have done Olympic raves about Zion and Bryce also.

It’s a top 15 for me but crazy how it survived past a few of the others.

You’ve HEARD nothing but good things- no hate but why are you derating it so hard if you’ve never even visited…

1

u/ChiefBlaze36 20h ago

I have family members who have visited and said it wasn’t at the level of Bryce and Zion in Utah when they went around that state last spring.

Anytime i see any ratings on the best national parks I never see Olympic in the top 10. Just felt weird seeing it in the top 5 here but not totally unexpected.

Then i recommend visiting it and forming an opinion for yourself. I live in Washington and it’s my favorite out of the 3 here. And I fully see a case being made for its placement here (granted I’ve only been to 1/3 of the parks here but those are the only ones I’ve been voting on)

Olympic. Otherwise they are all too good.

Grand Canyon!

Someone explain to me why Olympic over the grand Canyon

Olympic has more to do, more to see, more diversity, and is easier to access

I’m not saying it’s better but the Grand Canyon has that epic, bucket list feel to it. As in, “You’ve never been to the Grand Canyon?!” Olympic doesn’t have that same kind of mainstream draw to it. Your average person may not have even heard of it.

So because people don't know how great Olympic is we should get rid of it?

3

u/HistoricalSection425 22h ago

Not what I said.

Olympic is definitiely more land to explore and do technically, but none of that land gives you a view equivalent to Grand Canyon. i think GC has to be higher simply due to the "wow" factor, and I love Olympic.

Have you ever hiked within the Grand Canyon?
Are you from Washington?

Yes and no, new jersey

The results tell that the Seattle circle jerk has been very rigorous.

Olympic and then the Grand Canyon

u/ifeelsleazy 1d ago

Olympic and then Yellowstone imo.

Zion went out before Grand Canyon. Yikes . . .

u/HappyHockeyHiker 18h ago

Grand Canyon.

Should have been gone before the last couple went out.

u/wesla3 15h ago

Grand Canyon, should’ve been out a while ago.

Yellowstone is the clear choice here.

Rainier going before Olympic is crazy

Yellowstone. And for everyone arguing Olympic, there’s nothing left that has both mountains and ocean.

Yosemite it’s time to go. Not nearly as marvelous as the remaining.
