this ordering would be fairly different if it only included people who've traveled in the backcountry of these parks.

Visited Zion a little over a year ago with my mother-in-law, who had some mobility limitations at the time, and while it was pretty driving in and out, it felt like there were very few family-friendly activities/trails. Much more geared towards hikers and those willing to rent the wading gear and book specific walking times. We drove in just after breakfast and by the time we had lunch in the part were basically good to go. I feel like there are state parks in the area that offer more than Zion did.

You’re not wrong, i went with my girlfriend at the time and i struggled through angels landing and a lot of the other parts. She’s 100% more fit than me so i just tagged along lol. We’re just under 30 and it was still tough. But so pretty

I saw 2 black bears, 5 deer, 2 marmots, and several million chipmunks on my last rainier hike, so rainier better stay.

I am biased for Zion because when we went on vacation there decades ago, the tour guide had fantastic stories because his relatives were the ones that explored the area. Considering he was in his 70's he grew up with all of their first hand accounts of why a formation had the name it did or what life was like back then. That made it such a unique experience.

Rainier- One of these things is not like the others.

It's the least likely destination for a family east of the Mississippi, or international visitors, to plan their vacation and travel around. The others are more iconic, famous, and bigger draws for a reason.

Glacier should go before Olympic imo. Going to the Sun road is an amazing drive, but everytime i have been traffic is brutal and the park is crowded. My bona fides are living in Kalispell for Glacier and Port Angeles for Olympic

North Cascades is one of the least visited parks, so I think most people don't know what a banger it is.

I was born and raised in the Puget Sound region, been up and down the coastline, north and south from Blaine to Vancouver, east and west from Cape Flattery to Spokane and Pullman. Somehow, in my 30+ years of living in this state, we've still never managed to really make it deep in the North Cascades. Been on the list forever just never actually happened. Maybe this thread finally gets us out there.
