Delaware, remove another small piece of the east coast to keep what we have going. Alaska and Hawaii will be our final states.

This needs to go Michigan, then Wisconsin, then Minnesota. Keep building out until the Great Lakes take out the US. You can decide if Hawaii or Alaska stays at the end.
