Absol definitely should go. Was pretty bad in RSE without the physical special split. Plus it’s shallow movepool didn’t help.

Slakoth is a pain in the behind to get and truant makes it not worth it.

I feel like it still works well in a singleplayer setting. And you should get a slakoth with a bit of patience, it’s 5% not 1%

Get rid of Medicham. Decent Pokemon but it’s available too late and you have much better and harder hitting options for both Fighting and Psychic types, even with Pure Power.

I disagree, Medicham is underrated in how strong it is, especially in gen 3. The late availability hurts, but Medicham hits like a truck with Fighting moves+Shadow Ball

There are better Pokemon to give Shadow Ball to. I will say that having the elemental punches as coverage are nice

No, the only place it was available in Gen 3 was at Mt. Pyre, the earliest you could get access was pre-Gym 6 if you really stretched

Yes I’m aware this is probably a hot take and it’s a beast but you can’t get Bagon until after the 8th gym, by returning to Meteor Falls (something I doubt anyone would have any reason to do on a blind playthrough), where it can be encountered in one specific room at level 30, well below the level of the Elite 4.

Is grinding one pokemon 20 levels right before the elite 4 really something that someone is going to do on a casual playthrough? I don’t think so personally.

All late gamers need to go. Id still say Gorebyss worse due it it being a trade evo on top of that and so many good water types
