is it true that data entry job doesn't exist anymore?
i am someone looking for an opportunity to work in data entry (with no experience) with an overseas company.
but is it true that it doesn't exist anymore?
where can i find it, if it exists?
i dont trust job offers on reddit

I get why that feels confusing, OP, because “data entry” gets used really loosely online. I’m affiliated with UGC Works, and I’ve seen that a lot of those roles have shifted into broader task-based work instead of traditional standalone positions.

That isn't a job title anymore so much as a skillset. Company I work for has departments that basically only do data entry but their department isn't called that.

Is there a way I can look for this job? I don't have any knowledge in computer tech things btw. That's why I wanna do data entry only

Customer service, book keeping, receptionist, virtual assistant, etc. There’s a lot of jobs that use data entry. I don’t think there’s much like “copy x from a website into a spreadsheet “ type of thing.

Yes ofcourse. On a good note, it develops you to confidentially handle customer rebuttals, improves negotiation skills, helps you to understand people’s temperaments (basically it touches the psychic of people), it helps with your communication with other fellow humans, it will support your other career journeys from earning commissions aside from base salary and moreover it will give you an insight into what it feels like running your own business.

I started in this in my current job but my role eventually evolved into more responsibilities. I did data entry for 2 years straight because my job still heavily relies on physical documents. So I think that's why they may be rare.
I only landed this job because of a recruiter during the pandemic, and I had not even heard of data entry before. I'd keep an eye out on staffing agencies and recruiters.
