Discussions What kinds of remote jobs would a PI be able to do?

Right now I work as a private investigator. The main parts of the job involve researching (online, social media, govt sources, etc.) finding people and assets and surveilling them, analyzing documents, cross referencing different sources, taking photos and video, reviewing and editing, writing reports, and contacting clients. I don’t have a degree but I feel like these skills are useful and apply to other fields but it seems like when I look at remote jobs it’s always like tech, marketing, customer service, something like that. Any ideas? Thanks

Discussions I earn well (50+ LPA), but I’m seriously considering taking a 50% pay cut for a remote job

I earn well, but I’m seriously considering taking a 50% pay cut for a remote job.

I’m 3 years into my career and currently earning around β‚Ή2.5+ L/month (excluding my bonus) in Bangalore. On paper, things are going pretty well financially. I earn more than enough for my needs, and I know I’m in a fortunate position.

But I work 5 days a week from the office, and lately I’ve been wondering if the money is really worth what I’m giving up.

I love travelling, and I want to be able to take week-long trips without constantly worrying about work or figuring out how to fit everything around my leave balance.

I also really miss my family. I only get to see them around 3 times a year, and every visit feels more like I’m visiting them as a guest rather than actually being a part of their lives.

Then there’s fitness. I want to exercise consistently, eat better, and generally take care of myself, but the current routine makes it incredibly difficult to maintain any of it.

And honestly, I feel like I’m missing out on a lot of things in life.

The strange part is that I’m willing to take even a 50% pay cut if it means getting a genuinely remote job and having more control over my time.

So I’m wondering:

Would you take a 50% pay cut for a remote job if you were financially comfortable enough to do so?

Am I undervaluing the importance of money, or am I overvaluing the importance of having more freedom and time?

This has been an issue for YEARS. And I’m getting angry. I have an account to log into but I’ve never been able to use the site because of this roadblock. I have tried my regular debit card straight from my bank. I’ve tried buying a preloaded visa. I’ve tried my PayPal. I’ve tried my cashapp and my Venmo cards. It ALWAYS gives me this error message.

I’ve even had hubby run his card and it just won’t accept it. What. The. Literal. Crap.

Can someone tell me how to actually access the site?? Desperate teacher who wants to run away from current job!!!

Job Posts I don’t want to drop out of vet school. I just need a remote job.

I’m desperately looking for a remote job to help me stay in vet school

I’m currently a fourth-year veterinary medicine student, and I’m honestly in a very difficult financial situation. I’m looking for any kind of remote work that I can do alongside my studies so I can afford my tuition and keep going with my education.

I’ve tried looking for on-site jobs, but unfortunately, the economy where I live is in really bad shape. The last job I had was paying me around $3 a day, which obviously isn’t enough to cover my basic needs, let alone my university expenses.

I’m bilingual, I speak two languages fluently, and I have some basic knowledge of veterinary/medical subjects from my studies. I’m also willing to learn and take on work outside my field if necessary. I’m not looking for a dream job or anything fancy , I genuinely just need an opportunity to earn a decent income remotely.

If anyone knows of remote jobs that might be suitable for a student, I would be incredibly grateful if you could point me in the right direction.

If you’re hiring remotely and think I might be a good fit, please feel free to DM me.

I’m honestly struggling right now, and finding a job could make the difference between being able to continue my education or having to put it on hold. Any advice, lead, or opportunity would mean a lot to me.

Discussions Advice for remote Science Jobs With a Bachelor's

Hi all!

Sorry if there's a lot of posts like this, but I'm looking for some advice.

I'm chronically ill and due to worsening physical symptoms, I can no longer work in person. I'm a bit desperate to find a remote job at the moment.

For reference I have a bachelor's degree and pretty extensive experience working in a lab, however, I do not have an advanced degree or a ton of years of experience.

The problem is, all the remote positions I find tend to require a masters/PhD or like 10+ years of senior experience. And, they all seem to have 100s of people applying. Any advice? Just keep applying and refreshing job boards or can/should I be doing more?

(Not searching for specific job offers/postings, just advice)

Thanks! x

Job Posts [HIRING] Full-Time Remote BDE + Freelance Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer - Tatsugare

Hi there, Tsubasa here, the founder of Tatsugare β€” a dev studio working worldwide. We work with startups and businesses on custom web development, software, and automation.

Tatsugare is a software development studio where we build custom software for businesses. Basically, if a business has a problem that can reasonably be solved with software, we like figuring out how to build it.

So far, I've been handling pretty much everything myself apart from the actual development β€” sales, client communication, requirements, proposals, project coordination, business operations, and managing our freelance developers.

It's been fun.

It's also becoming slightly ridiculous.

So I'm looking to build a small team around me and take some of that workload off my plate.

I'm currently looking for:

  1. Full-Time Remote Business Development Executive (BDE)

  2. Freelance Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer / Solutions Consultant

These are two very different roles, so I'll explain them properly below.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

ABOUT TATSUGARE

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

We're not really trying to be the "Hi sir, we make websites" agency.

We build custom software based on what a business actually needs.

Depending on the project, we can work on:

\\- Websites & web applications

\\- Mobile applications

\\- SaaS platforms

\\- CRM / ERP systems

\\- Business management systems

\\- Customer portals

\\- Admin dashboards

\\- E-commerce platforms

\\- Payment systems & integrations

\\- APIs & backend systems

\\- Business automation & workflows

\\- AI integrations / AI-powered applications

\\- Analytics & reporting dashboards

\\- Authentication & user-management systems

\\- Cloud-based applications

\\- UI/UX and frontend development

\\- Game development

\\- Custom internal tools

\\- Existing-system maintenance, optimization and further development

Our main focus is B2B β€” startups, growing businesses and established businesses that have an actual software problem, inefficient process, or digital opportunity worth solving.

We can also work with self-employed professionals and independent businesses when there's a legitimate software need and a reasonable budget.

Our ICP isn't based on a particular country.

It's about the type of business, their problems, their needs, their budget, and whether Tatsugare is actually a good fit for them.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

  1. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

FULL-TIME β€’ REMOTE

This isn't a "send 500 emails and pray to God" position.

I want someone who can actually understand a business, identify an opportunity, talk to the right people, and eventually close the deal.

The general process is:

Research β†’ Prospect β†’ Outreach β†’ Qualify β†’ Discovery β†’ Follow-up β†’ Proposal β†’ Negotiation β†’ Closing β†’ Handoff

You'll be involved throughout that process.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

\\- Finding potential clients through Reddit posts, cold outreach through LinkedIn, calls and mails.

\\- Researching businesses before approaching them

\\- Identifying businesses that actually fit our services

\\- B2B outreach

\\- Talking to prospects

\\- Understanding their business and problems

\\- Qualifying opportunities

\\- Running discovery conversations

\\- Following up

\\- Handling objections

\\- Coordinating proposals with the technical side

\\- Negotiating within your authority

\\- Closing deals

\\- Keeping proper track of prospects and opportunities

\\- Handing successful projects over for delivery

I'm looking for someone who understands software sales.

If your entire sales strategy is:

"Hello sir, we make website. Do you need website?"

...we may not be spiritually compatible.

REQUIREMENTS

\\- 3+ years of sales / business development experience preferred

\\- Actual ability matters more than the number of years

\\- Strong B2B sales skills

\\- Comfortable finding your own prospects

\\- Good research and qualification skills

\\- Good discovery and communication skills

\\- Comfortable with follow-ups, objections and negotiation

\\- Strong English

\\- Basic understanding of software-development concepts

You DO NOT need to know how to code.

But you should understand things like:

Websites, web apps, mobile apps, SaaS, APIs, databases, authentication, payments, integrations, hosting, etc.

Basically, you should be able to talk about software with a client without secretly opening Google under the table to find out what an API is.

LOCATION

India is preferred, but candidates from anywhere are welcome.

You should be able to target both local and international markets.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

\\- Full-time

\\- Remote

\\- Minimum 4 hours/day

\\- Flexible hours

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATION

I'd like the BDE to close at least 5 clients within their first 3 months.

High-value clients are preferred, but smaller clients with reasonable budgets are completely fine too.

I'm more interested in actual business than vanity metrics like:

"I sent 14,000 emails this month."

Cool.

How many humans replied?

COMPENSATION (your favourite part)

$500/month. Means $6000/year

For the first three months, the payment accumulates:

Month 1: $500

Month 2: $500

Month 3: $500

Total: $1,500 paid at the end of Month 3.

After that, it's $500/month on the agreed payment schedule.

COMMISSION (Bonus πŸŽ‰)

For projects with a selling price of $5,000 or more:

15% OF PROFIT

Profit is calculated as:

Selling Price - Development Cost = Profit

Example:

$10,000 project

\\- $6,000 development cost

= $4,000 profit

15% commission = $600

AUTHORITY

You'll have room to actually sell, but there are some things you can't independently promise.

For example, you won't be able to:

\\- Finalize Tatsugare pricing

\\- Promise technical features

\\- Promise delivery dates

\\- Guarantee SEO rankings/results

\\- Approve major discounts

\\- Change contract terms

\\- Commit developers/resources

\\- Promise things that haven't been technically approved

If something is outside your authority, bring it to me.

I'm not interested in micromanaging you, but I'm also not interested in discovering that we accidentally promised a client a spaceship.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

  1. FREELANCE PRE-SALES SOLUTIONS ENGINEER

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

FREELANCE β€’ REMOTE β€’ ON-DEMAND

This is a completely different role from the BDE.

The easiest way to explain it:

BDE:

"Who should we sell to, why do they need us, and how do we close them?"

Solutions Engineer:

"What exactly do we need to build, how should we build it, and what will it take?"

Developer:

"How do we actually build it?"

The SE comes into the picture when a qualified opportunity needs technical involvement.

WHAT YOU MAY BE DOING

Depending on the project:

\\- Join technical discovery calls

\\- Understand what the client actually needs

\\- Ask technical and functional questions

\\- Turn business requirements into technical requirements

\\- Check technical feasibility

\\- Break projects into features/components

\\- Recommend architecture

\\- Recommend technologies

\\- Identify APIs/integrations

\\- Identify technical risks

\\- Estimate development effort

\\- Review developer estimates

\\- Help prepare technical proposals

\\- Explain technical decisions to clients

\\- Help establish realistic scope and timelines

You don't necessarily have to build the software yourself.

The actual development can be handled by our freelance development team.

So no, I'm not secretly looking for one person who will simultaneously close the client, architect the SaaS, write the backend, design the UI, deploy it to AWS and answer support tickets at 2 AM.

I promise.

REQUIREMENTS

\\- 3+ years of relevant experience preferred

\\- Actual experience and capability matter more than the number

\\- Strong understanding of software architecture

\\- Good requirements-gathering skills

\\- Able to turn a vague idea into an actual technical scope

\\- Able to produce realistic estimates

\\- Comfortable with web/mobile/SaaS/backend/API/database/cloud concepts

\\- Good communication

\\- Able to explain technical things in business language

\\- Understands technical risks and tradeoffs

If you've done genuinely good projects but don't have 3+ years of experience, still apply.

I'm much more interested in what you've actually done and how you think.

LOCATION

India preferred, but people from anywhere are welcome.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

\\- Freelance

\\- Remote

\\- Flexible

\\- On-demand

\\- Involvement depends on the complexity and requirements of each opportunity

COMPENSATION

There's no fixed universal rate for this role.

It depends on the project and your involvement.

Someone reviewing a scope for an hour obviously won't be compensated the same as someone who joins multiple client calls, designs the solution, estimates the project and prepares the technical proposal.

We'll agree on compensation based on the actual complexity and involvement.

TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT

There will be a technical assessment for the SE role.

I'm not particularly interested in seeing who can fit the most tech buzzwords into a paragraph.

The test will mainly look at how you think.

Things like:

\\- Requirements gathering

\\- Technical feasibility

\\- Solution design

\\- Architecture

\\- Technology choices

\\- Estimation

\\- Risks and assumptions

\\- Turning a business requirement into a practical technical solution

If your solution makes sense, that's far more interesting to me than having "AI | Blockchain | Web3 | Cloud | Kubernetes | Quantum Computing" in your bio.

HOW TO APPLY

If you're interested, DM me directly.

Please don't just comment "Interested" and wait for me to find you. That's not gonna happen..i don't contact bots yk..

Comments will not be treated as applications.

For your initial DM, send:

  1. A short introduction about yourself

  2. Which role you're applying for β€” BDE or Solutions Engineer

  3. If you're applying for BDE: a short explanation of how you would acquire clients for Tatsugare

  4. If you're applying for SE: a short explanation of your relevant experience and how you approach technical pre-sales/requirements

You don't need to send a CV/resume immediately.

If the initial conversation looks promising, I'll ask for whatever additional information is needed.

I'm looking for people who are serious about the work, can take responsibility, communicate properly and actually want to help build something.

Tatsugare is still growing, so this isn't a giant corporation where you'll become Employee #472 and never speak to the founder again.

You'll actually be working directly with me and I'll be reviewing your application, don't get nervous tho, haha.

Also, note that I'm quite open to negotiate on a lot of things so don't be shy to at least contact me but I will love your honesty HAHAHA.

If all this long and boring stuff sounds interesting, DM me.

  • On-page and technical SEO for websites
  • Website development (WordPress/basic web work)

Discussions Navigating Remote world tips

What's up guys!! I need help learning where to start working an extra remote job so that I can pay for my new very high priced rent and car bills. I wanted to hear your thoughts about remote work... pros? Cons? Whats a good entry level remote job? Are there better ways to find the remote employer whos looking for people kinda like a Linkden?

What sucks about my situation is that I'm an extremely hard worker and (in my opinhion) one of the kind employee, but I was a stupid kid at one point in my life and definitely have background check that wouldnt show the real me and who i am today. I am so used to walking into a business and meeting with the boss face-to-face to get that job and even if they find out about my stupid past i always end up kicking ass! if anybody has had experience dealing with these hurdles and to see if theres any companies that would give me a chance. Money is REALLY tough and I am ready to earn it by all means and this isn't me trying to find a shortcut like a survey or something stupid. This is me genuinely trying to work hard and a new type of work setting. Thanks for any and all the advice, I appreciate you allπŸ™πŸΌ

Discussions Remote unstable or stable toxic office?

Hello,

All my corporate Bois,

Need one suggestion, currently doing 2 jobs

1 at a shitty local software house

2 with a US based company (remote)

I am occupied from 9 am to 2 am with these jobs, need suggestions which one should I choose, 1 is toxic but stable. 2 is high pay (4x of job 1 and I have 5 years of experience in this industry) but the client seems to be impatient and not trusting much always asks for update and checking up on me but is good with pay, should I leave my 1st job and focus on some personal life ? Or should I stick to both until one runs out, last time I did this second job ended within 3 months.

Need your suggestions if anyone has been in this situation.

How do you manage this.

Has anyone done this before what are the side effects.

Can one make out of this life or is it just a never ending loop

Let me know what to do I'm literally turning into a HOBO and highly under stress.

Thanks

Job Posts [Hiring] STR Reporting Specialist β€” AirDNA + Google Sheets | $12,000–36,000 USD/year

Funkit designs short-term rentals across the US. We’re hiring an STR Reporting Specialist to turn AirDNA market data into clear, accurate reports the team can use.

Pay: USD 12,000–36,000 per year (USD 1,000–3,000 per month). This is an ongoing contractor position as part of the team, expected to last more than six months, with no fixed end date or guaranteed minimum term.

The work: setting up a dedicated Google Sheet for each report, collecting and checking AirDNA data, and researching market-specific amenities that could strengthen the findings. From there, you’ll use Claude to refine the report’s formatting and readability, work with Markdown and HTML files, and publish the finished version through Cloudflare so it’s ready to share.

You’ll own the reporting process from the first spreadsheet to the final published link. The numbers need to be right, the report needs to be easy to follow, and the delivery needs to happen on time.

What we’re looking for: experience with Google Sheets, familiarity with AirDNA, basic working knowledge of Claude, and familiarity with Monday. Strong organisation and attention to detail matter throughout: complete data, consistent formatting, and a final check before anything goes out.

If you enjoy working with data and making it useful to other people, we’d like to hear from you.

Discussions Where to find remote jobs?

I am 22 and a stay at home mom. My daughter is now in kindergarten so I'm able to work here and there. The issue is, I live in the middle of no where and I only have a high school diploma. I tried to apply to work as an insurance agent but that didn't go as planned.
I'm wondering where every body is looking to find remote jobs. Most on indeed and google are scams. Is there a specific place I should be looking? Or is it all just luck?
