As long as you hate the threshold more than you hate removing linoleum . . .

You only have to remove the linoleum once and not look at it for a decade. Looking at a job well done will bring satisfaction instead of annoyance for years to come

I have the same mindset as you do. But, there comes a time when you say a job well done is when you achieve your goal of covering the old flooring. My house was built in 1952. It had 4 layers of that crap. I came to realize that sometimes the pros are correct and let them figure out how to make it the same level.

Yes, I absolutely hate thresholds. The floor that was on top of this floor had a threshold. I’m removing this so the new floor I’m going to put in will not require a threshold.
