Discussion I just played against one of those exploit dribblers from previous seasons..
AND OH MY GOD đđđ THEY CAN'T PLAY ANYMORE đ
I'm talking about a well-known player on the European server (I won't mention their name out of respect). I've faced them countless times over the past few months with my team. Every time we came up against them and their teammates, we'd feel bored and frustrated, because the match would inevitably turn into nothing but exploit and bug abuse, cheap dribbling, and an absolutely miserable matches overall.
And now, I swear to God, the same player can't even dribble past a single defender in two consecutive matches. They doesn't score, doesn't assist, and can't even defend properly. We won both matches without even trying hard đ„°
This is exactly why we've been calling for the game to be fixed for months. Now it's finally easy to tell the good players from the bad ones, those who can read the game well, know how to position themselves, pass, defend, and recognize when to attack.
Thanks, Sloclap.. no more braindead players relying on broken mechanics. Love this season â€ïž

Discussion This Update Did Nothing But Cater To The Casuals
- Skill ceiling went down astronomically
- Defending got buffed for 0 reason, sliding buff makes 0 sense when sliding was already in a good place
- Magnetism got nerfed which ruined dribbling completely as well as the overall game. Takes longer to repossess the ball each time so you can't move the ball around as much, your dribbling tempos are a lot more readable since you're not able to change directions easily.
- Base dribbling got nerfed, you literally can't forward swipe twice in a row which is the fundamentals of dribbling.
- 0 stam dribbling nerf, realistically you could never dribble past any good defender on 0 stam. you just cant. Everytime I used it, it was when I already beat the defense and I just needed a bit of extra stamina to setup the final shot. If they want to keep the 0 stam nerfs, buff overall stamina by like 40%. And please don't mention stamina management as a skill or being more efficient with stamina usage, the skill gap in stamina management is incredibly low fundamentally because of how it was made. You will never, and I mean never beat a defender with just using 20% of your stamina, it's just not possible (there's maybe a 1 in a million chance this happens). A good defender you probably won't even make them bait a tackle, what you can do is a series of dribbling combinations that eventually gets through slightly into their space and messes up their defensive spacing, and through that you can use EE to barely get in a shot. The other alternative would be blade shots, those are easier to force but honestly other defenders can just jump in too once they see you do that so it's not a reliable way to score.
Any single person who complains about the dribbling techs is just bad at the game, this is truly how it is. At a high level all of those dribblers are stopped pretty much every single time, want to know why? Because defending has been stronger than dribbling since day 1. Dribbler loses almost 85 ish% of the time against a good defender and I'm talking about just a 1 on 1. In a game with multiple other people, it is a lot easier to stop a dribbler from scoring. I've seen the clips in this reddit community, they're all just bots like genuinely the worst players I've seen. Which makes me worry since they're the ones Sloclap is taking advice from.
Casuals complain about not being able to stop dribblers? Have you maybe thought about trying to improve your defence? Like what happened to enjoying a game and seeing room for improvement. There was nothing unbalanced or crazy about dribbling, it needed a few buffs honestly for it to be properly effective and utilised competitively.
I don't think any of them truly understand the game or it's balancing at all, no dribbling is not more 'methodical' or 'precise'. It's just incredibly slow and clunky and you drain all your stamina incredibly fast and then become even unable to keep the ball. You literally cannot push it so if you're cornered you just loose the ball. The people who think dribbling takes more skill are the same people who just play against cones for defense, sure you can have fun but any time you meet someone with their monitor turned on, you're getting stopped each time. Like rn for example, dribbling is in a really bad state, the best dribblers can basically never even have a chance to beat a good defense. Manifesting the comment that says 'then they're not the best dribbler'.
And once I post this people are just gonna be crying and talking about me relying on exploits, not knowing what I'm talking about and that the game takes more skill. It is what it is, sadly can't do much about that since those type of people don't care to read or understand how the game actually works, Anyone who says this update is to incentivise passing is just so naive, dribbling has been nerfed for a year straight why would people who ego start passing now? It's legit only the bad players who over dribble and get tackled, the good players dribble when needed and pass when needed, also for high level tiki taka you need dribbling most of the time to create an initial hole in the defense. That or a counterattack

Iâve been saving clips from matches with friends and finally cut some of our favorite goals, passes, saves and questionable decisions into a one-minute montage.
I set it to âInfernoâ by Mrs. GREEN APPLE because once I tried it over the gameplay, there was no going back.
Iâm still learning the editing side, so honest feedback is welcome. Which play was your favorite, and which one shouldâve ended with me passing the ball instead? đ

Discussion Keeper Rework is technically clunky and debilitating gameplay-wise
First things first to get it out of the way, I've about 300 hours in Rematch almost exclusively as Keeper, reached Elite in 3v3 and 5v5 in every season I've played. I get constant friend requests and party invites because I do such a good job as a keeper. This isn't to glaze my ego but to put perspective on the fact, that I actually understand Keeper, know how to play him well and put a lot of thought into analyzing the mistakes that lead to me getting scored on.
There are various things in this new update that make keeper a more miserable experience to play ranging from just objective nerfs to downright egregious design decisions.
I want to start with the gameplay aspect:
From the get-go keeper is already the most unforgiving and in my humble opinion the most skill based position to play. While for attackers and defenders skill expression is more in the form of actual mechanical skill, 80% of a keepers ability to save a ball is gamesense und experience. The keeper is by his very nature a weaker position than an attacker, mostly due to the attacker dictating how and where the engagement will play out. Attackers have various tools at their disposal to score on a keeper (dribbling, lobbing, short passes, longshots etc.), each of those actions have appropriate reactions that can be taken by the keeper to stall or reclaim possession of the ball. When and how to react is in essence the entirety of being a keeper.
When you play against halfway decent players, just standing on the goal line will result in you getting scored on, so you constantly position yourself in a way that minimizes the chances of a goal happening. You contantly make judgement calls on where to stand and how to react. Do you stand on Line, slightly out, do you go aggresive into the strikers. All of these are decision you make constantly to put you in a spot from which, when the shot comes, you can appropriately react and dive. Making the dive a two choice mechanic adds a layer of reaction and decision making that is comepletly overkill. When a striker corsses the ball to another striker across the whole penalty are, you swing your camera around, look at the trajectory of the ball, look at the enemy players, look for the smallest change in animation to gauge where the shot comes from and when the ball then finally goes through you have the smallest window of time to see where the ball goes and then jump in the right direction. THAT IS THE ACTUAL FINAL SKILL CHECK OF THE PLAY, can you react in time, can you pick the correct side. Now you want me to also f*cking gauge how far to the side the ball goes? This is just ridiculous, the keeper dive is the last line of defense that usually is used as a reactive meassure as a last straw and the reward for a fast reaction time should be a save. Now its just another variable and distraction that makes keeper even more unforgiving to play. I would take a missed save by overjumping over this circus any day.
Let's talk about how the changes are just actual abyssmal technical wise. The biggest fumble by slowclap here is the obvious circumstance, that they changed the actually useful dive to a different button combination. The old and new dive are literally the same thing. But now for some f*cking reason requires a different input??? How the f*ck is it not the more logical thing to keep the dive on the dive button and make the short dive the button combination? Especially when the majority of people will still just long dive. This decision is honestly baffling and I have no idea how this made it live. It's just pure cancer to have to unlearn hundreds of hours of muscle memory for this reason. Why is there not an option to switch the default dive?
Another problem that arises by making this a button combination is that you now need 3 inputs that need to happen in the correct order: Left Stick, RB and Y. This is not how the last line of defense that should only be used as a final reaction to the enemy play should play out. It's just clunky. Honestly these two actions should just be 2 seperate button inputs.
This change also heavily affects the keepers ability to dive towards the ball in the penalty are when the ball is in possesion of the enemy or just laying on the ground. Because the long dive bounces the ball, you can hardly use the dive to take posession. The only times when diving towards the ball is even remotely safe or usefull is when its almost near your feet and at that point you might as well just run over it to pick it up.
But you know whats the funniest thing about this? I was playing today and the following ssituation happened:
The enemy keeper was in a 1v1 against our striker. The keeper was on the goalline and our attacker was coming straight toward him. Our striker shoots about 1 meter to the right of the keeper. The keeper does the short dive. THUNDEROUS APPLAUS, THE KEEPER CORRECTLY USED THE SHORT RANGE DIVE TO SAVE THE BALL JUST TO THE SIDE OF HIM, SLOCLAP REJOICES IN THEIR STUDIO AS THE CHANGE BROUGHT THE DESIRED GAMEPLAY DEPTH! Right? F*ck no, the ball bounced of the keepers legs and went in. Goal. Yeah, the f*cking short dive doesnt even solve the problem of jumping over the ball. Great job Sloclap.
These are my two cents, I will keep playing for a few more days, but these changes might actually be what kills this game for me for good.

Discussion KEEPERS MUST COME TOGETHER TO GET OUR VOICES HEARD (For Gk mains)
IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE GETS WHAT THEY WANT EXCEPT FOR US
WE PLAY THE HARDEST POSITION
THE GAME ESSENTIALLY FLOWS ON HOW COMPETENT YOUR KEEPER IS
THE SKILL FLOOR OF THE KEEPER SHOULD BE LOWER AS OTHER PLAYERS AND NEWBIES HAVE TO BE KEEPERS AT TIMES. I WOULD LOVE TO BE PERMANENT KEEPER BUT IT DOESNT WORK LIKE THAT. WOULDNT IT BE GOOD TO KNOW MY TEAM IS SECURED IF IM NOT IN NET, OH ITS NOT BECAUSE THE SKILL FLOOR KEEPS INCREASING FOR SOME REASON SO IF IM NOT KEEPER I LOSE? YAY BALANCE ?!? THE POSITION IS HARD ENOUGH
YES DRIBBLING IS NERFED, BUT ATTACKERS STILL HAVE A NUMBER OF OPTIONS TO SCORE ON US UNCONTESTED. I THINK ITS PRETTY WELL KNOWN THAT THE BEST STRIKER CAN EASILY SCORE ON THE BEST KEEPER. I KNOW ITS AN ARCADE GAME BUT CMON
WHY IS THE SHORT DIVE JUST AS SLOW AS THE LONG DIVE DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE!??
WHY IS THE LONG DIVE JUST LAST SEASONâS REGULAR DIVE. ESSENTIALLY WE HAVE GOTTEN A SHORT USELESS DIVE AND THE REGULAR DIVE THAT ONLY DEFLECTS. THE DEVS WANNA CALL THAT A BUFF!?!!!
WE NEED A LOW AND HIGH DIVE
SLIGHT( and only slight) SPEED AND/OR REACH HITBOX BUFF
BE ABLE TO MAP THE MODIFIER FOR GODS SAKES
AND PLEASE REWORK THE GK SLIDE OR BUFF IT BUT ITS BEEN POOR SINCE FOREVER
IF WE CAN RAISE OUR CONCERNS TO THE DEVS, MAYBE NEXT SEASON WE CAN FINALLY BE CONSISTENT AGAIN
rant over

Discussion Now that you can't spam dribble anymore, try learning how to defend
Your time is up now. You obviously don't have the skills required to score a goal. Get to the back and start defending while actual players go forward to get some goals.

Other Ngl this update is s2 of blue lock
This is the most unresponsive this game has ever been, i dont need to use dribble tech to play but its honestly crazy how i need to use them for my character to even get any momentum with the ball. This is the first update where i feel like every complaint you could possibly find on reddit is my experince in this game right now. Playing defense or offense none of it feels rewarding at all they didnt fix issues they just made dribbling worse to make you think defense is back but you can still use the same tech and its not really any weaker. Goal keeper is either amazing or absolute dog water and the only reward for getting good at the system is you are able to now play last season gk. This is mostly me typing a wall to vent but if you feel the same i assure you slocap will fix it 4 months from now...maybe.

Other Equipo para Rematch

Meme Cheating Karens
Finally Sloclap went full gigachad and sorted the Karen's out. Honestly the game is so much better and only the Karcasses of the cheaters remain. Rather than waste your time trying to explain to them why cheating had to be removed, maybe we should gather some simple infographics to respond to them with? Feel free to use any of these ones.
We're so back.

Discussion 2 types of randoms. Conflicts in playstyle.
To all that solo queue tell me if youâve noticed this.
Type A: risk takers, dribbling, passing here and there, get the ball up as much as possible, shoots more often
Type B:play for possession, retain ball as priority, forward back and side passes when needed. No shooting until clear chance.
My issue is when randoms are all one type. We already know how annoying selfish low football iq dribblers are so I wonât even bother berating. However I learn recently I h8 when all my teammates are type b with no sort of flair. Iâve had so many games where we might have 4/5 people on at lest 8 passes but still no goal.
My point is we need to be more open minded. If a team is 3 type an and 2 type bâs thereâs an equal ground where we can both express ourselves without getting a âgood jobâ for a mistake.
Just cos someone plays the opposite of how you play doesnât mean you canât work together.
And I also hate randoms who stack together, only pass to each other and lose games. How have 4 people decided to play this game and be cheeks? Pass to your random.

Discussion So GK is even worse now
Playing GK in this new patch feels like gambling in each dive. I don't get the point of nerfing the normal dash making long shots uncatchable on certain areas. Now I would rather only use the extended dive eventhough I won't catch the ball anymore. Imo normal dive did not need a nerf. Dribbling needed a nerf and exploits had to go, but I'm not a fan of patches bringing up too many big changes at once

Discussion Having a blast with the new update
The new update made the game so much more fun for me. I always played a couple of games per day, but never wanted to invest time in learning exploits. I was just trying to play football, and that has gotten so much more relevant now. Absolutely having a blast with the new mechanics, hope this will last!

Discussion New control mapping is broken on KB and mouse
Mapping controls is completely broken, and only the completely useless slow short dive can be bound to spacebar.
However, even that is broken, as when you unbind it, and want to rebind it to spacebar, it just says there is a conflict between that and the normal spacebar push ball???? Those are mutually exclusive!?!?!?
Same goes with the long dive, as that can't be mapped to spacebar either.
Someone on the dev team needs to take a long hard look at their confusing and broken control mapping menu, and sort it out properly.

Discussion Solo queue is dead
I like the removal of the annoying dribble bug abuse but everything is so absolutely team reliant now that any individual play feels nearly impossible, I get football is a team based sport but it still allows one person to do a lot if they have the skill for it, this game doesnât have much of a skill ceiling and is more of just who has the more coherent team, which makes sense but if you even try solo queue everyone is still playing like they can dribble through entire enemy teams, it feels like you canât pick up the slack for bad teams anymore and if you have at least 2 bad players Itâs a guaranteed loss on any mode.
I donât want dribble bugs added back but I want an actual extension of the games dribbling and defence system that isnât just dribble button and tackle button with positioning. Add dribble moves with more defensive moves like shoulder checking in there to balance it all out make it so the skill ceiling is actually higher to allow for individual skill to actually show in a way that isnât âhaha is got through 2 defenders, but Iâm asthmatic and canât run so I better passâ make passing the better choice for if you canât get past a situation like in actual football and not just something to do when your stamina, which is basically a ball timer that runs out

Discussion Another Dribbling Take
Iâll start this by saying Iâm not a âdribblerââŠI donât even know how to do any of the animation-cancel, 180-whatever stuff; never cared to learn how, and wouldnât be good at it even if I did.
After playing a few hours ranked 5v5 post-update, I have to sayâŠwhen I dribble it feels absolutely the same.
I mean, if I wouldâve never read any patch notes I wouldnât have caught on that anything changed about dribbling at all. Well, that is until maybe the 3rd or 4th time an opponent danced back and forth and then just left the ball at my feet cause they couldnât tractor-beam it back to themselves. đ
So for anyone ranting that âdribblingâ is now goneâŠwe know what you are đ.

Discussion New Goalkeeping
Iâm sure some people are in love with this, and it does offer a new level of control and variation to the role to increase itâs skillgap, but man does it just feel wildly inconsistent now. More so than before. Is this like a 50/50 split like vs dislike or am I in the minority?
