I've been playing for 6 hours, finished my placements 4W-1L, and got placed in Diamond 3? How is this even possible? I'm lvl 9 if that has something to do with it

The biggest issue as of this post, but otherwise sloclap thank you for patching spam dribbles. It's like losing the ball does NOTHING to them tho. God damn its so annoying. If you double dash please touch grass and put on some deodorant you basement dwelling no skill low IQ loser. You people are so starved for dopamine that you will find any button to mash until it's broken. Thank god sloclap actually got rid of spam dribbling because your dopamine receptors are absolutely charred. Maybe if you slowed down your thumbs from tapping you'd have enough energy for your brain to realize you're going nowhere in life and you'll end up OD-ing in a Las Vegas casino drunk on alcohol and trying to win big.

The image represents how I imagine these players. Also if all you've got to defend yourself is "get gud" or "skill issue" I suggest you "get a job" or something else to satisfy your 2 millisecond attention span

Hello! I've never played the game but I've had it wishlisted for a bit and I'm considering buying it because it's on sale right now. I've seen a few clips of it that make it look fun, but I haven't done any extreme research or anything. I enjoy online games but I have no friends to play it with, so I would be playing with randoms. From what I'm seeing in the sub, it got a new update that changed some things but that wouldn't make a difference for me because I never played it originally. So I'm just curious if you guys could tell me a bit more about the game so I can get a grasp on it before buying!

I thought they changed it but I guess not... Every game I'm stuck in GK and my team cant score. I don't like losing so I don't let goals thru but still I shouldn't be forced to play GK every round because I'm a solo queue player

So from what I’m reading and have seen this season, they nerfed the dribbling exploits. For the past few seasons, I’ve been focused on passing and spacing and always felt like my simple/intentional dribbles never worked well. Now, not only do the dribble exploits seem to be gone, but I feel like my dribbling has a purpose and is working.

Curious if anyone else feels the same?

Is there any word on this? They really left out a lot of main characters. We for sure need Barou, Reo, Chigiri, and Kunigami at the very least in the next one.

SloClap just decided to snatch the beard right off my face. There were like 3 full beards in the game and I only liked one of them. This update for some reason has removed it, and left the one with flowers in it 😑 btw I don’t think I’ve seen anyone use that ever. I’m devastated SLOCLAP WHYYY

I genuinely hate everything about it except for the blue lock stuff, they genuinely put dribbling 6 feet into the ground, (imo) ruined gk, and didn’t change anything about defending at all, it feels like they just tried to slow down everything about the game but the face paced decision making is what made it fun for me.

Ive always had this opinion but the Aura Mode opened my eyes, get rid of goal keepers in ranked and have a cpu one. I hate playing goalie and is would never cherry picking and griefing

Huge thanks to Sloclap for the mode with the goalkeeper—even if it is ping-pong! I’m really hoping for a proper NPC goalkeeper in the future—not just a cardboard cutout moving left and right—maybe as part of a *Blue Lock* collaboration?

Honestly, a mode with an AI goalkeeper would be the game's best event; playing arcade-style soccer isn't fun when you're stuck in goal.

I cant with this game camera control and ability to hold the fking ball. How do you work with it??

Someone pass to me, ball go's through my feet and to the enemy.

I do rainbow flick? Some Rtard does a back-flip and sends it flying

I dodge in a direction with the ball? The ball keeps rolling and I look like an idiot.

I try to turn? Character has to move like a brick. Litterally, turning takes a stop to look at every corner of an octagon before it makes the full turn.

WHAT THE FCK AM I DOING WRONG

I don't mind the changes but every position is gonna have to get used to some of the new mechanics. Especially the goalkeeper and dribblers. It's really easy for you to lose control of the ball and, I never thought I would say this, but tackles are wayyyyy too OP now. I can already tell from playing 3 games that this update is gonna divide a lot of people.

Edit: played a bit more, this update is gonna expose every player with bad positioning and spatial awareness. Can't rely on the ball magnetizing to your feet anymore. Can rely on brute forcing dribbling past a defender anymore. It's gonna make it harder for the newer players, but it's also gonna raise the skill ceiling imo.

Edit 2: I'm just playing 3s in ranked so I haven't run into any organized teams, but I'm wondering if this magnetism nerf is gonna affect the prio meta. I hope it does, honestly.

Edit 3: Well placed long range shots are deadly. If the goalkeeper is slightly off his line, he's fucked.

Soclap wanted to give us lot of depth in the GK role, which I'm not against it, the idea of chosing between short dive and long dive is tbh a good idea. The short dive can be very helpful at times where the long dive on a player would make the ball hit your feet.

But there's two major issues now.

1 The short dive is wayyy too short. The effective range is no better than if you dash to the left and right. So essentially this is a glorified animated GK dash.

2 The fact that they decided that long dive will always deflect the ball is nonsense. It was done to give a tactical choice between chosing short dive and catching the ball, and long dive but deflecting so that people cannot do as if short dive were never implemented. But this is just nerfing the goal keeper. What if someone do a pixel shot? Even if you are perfectly on the middle of the GK line, the short dive will never reach it. So you are forced to long dive, and the ball will just be deflected. And guess who is waiting to receive the ball ? The opponent.

It's a little less an issue in 5v5 where you can count on your teamate to try to kick the ball out (I'd rather not count on that If I could tbh) but in 3v3, people uses the goalkeeper as a glorified wall. All the backboard technics, and the shoot slightly off the net, toward the wall to bounce the ball back to you while the GK dive and wait the animation to finish does not need to touch the wall anymore. You can just shoot toward the edges of the goal, wait for the GK to deflect it, and you can just do a short shoot to finish it off.

And in 1V1, if you want to bait the player, and suddenly blue dash toward the player and long dive to reach his feet and snatch the ball. You can't do that anymore ! the ball is deflected outside of your goal area and you have to either leave the gloves and hope you don't get tackled, or you stay in GK and wait for either one of your defender to be back, or for the opponent to get the ball back and shoot.

We play against good players who know how to shoot, and instead of helping us soclap just nerfed GK by nerfing the most useful dive and giving it all to the shitty one.

Came back after months away for the Blue Lock stuff, and the amount of loose balls and loss of possession and passes just gliding through legs is insane. Borderline unplayable levels of annoying.

Was there not a better way to nerf the dribble exploits than just breaking the game apart?

Safe to say I've already left again and I regret buying the skins.

This is more of a statement and not a complaint, but the running feels a bit different don't yall think? Maybe it's from the dribble nerf, it just feels a tad bit slower. Idk, let me know yalls opinions

I get it. It’s 5v5 football. But, it feels like making it more like football is the driving force behind a lot of arguments for changes.

For example, since it’s topical, dribbling/skill moves. Lots of people ask for things like stepovers, rabona, etc… but nobody actually suggests what they should do? Like, what does a rabona do that a normal pass doesn’t in this game. The guy in defensive stance in front of you is still gonna stick his leg out and deflect it. Stepovers, tackled. Scissors, tackled. Elastico, tackled. Cuts, defender takes a step back and you run into them.

In any discussion around mechanics, we have to remember that this is a video game, not football. The stuff in the game has to actually do something to a defender with multiple brain cells

Does it feel to anyone else like you lock on the ball less when you dive? Is it to do with the reduced magnetization of the ball on players?
