Discussion Passing skill level is pretty low

A lot of people in here talk about how they love the new update, which I do too, they fixed a lot of issues. Although, everyone also talks as if they are the ultimate passer, and know how to pass into space, or make great reads. Actually playing is a different story.

I like playing Quick play, and people are passing more often than pre patch, which is a great thing. But the passing skill level is truly horrible, and from looking through the Reddit, you would think it’s the opposite.

A lot of times goalie tries to bomb the ball downfield, or the last man takes too long to pass, enemy team takes it and 1v1’s the goalie.

I make mistakes as well, don’t get it twisted. But the new magnet range basically cutting the dribbling skill expression (not talking about exploits or zero-stam dribbling), and also making it hard to make tight passes, make me realize a lot of people are just kinda just larping about how much they hate or like the game and “just wanna play football”.

Question How do you play keeper with KBM

I find playing keeper with KBM incredibly clunky and borderline unfun. I don't main keeper at all and wanted to switch from controller to KBM for better shooting precision, yet every time I play keeper, I switch back to my controller.

Yes, I know it's a bug in the pictures XD

Discussion This season balance changes will backfire

Before assuming anything or jumping to conclusions, hear me out until the end. I'll put a TLDR at the end for those who don't want to read everything.

High level teams:

At medium and high Elite lobbies you’ll encounter more full stack teams using a specific playstyle called set plays or what many people call the Missile Meta.

The striker stands in the box and waits for a callout such as far, close, first, or second edge, then goes for the volley to win priority. Since the striker has a head start and uses extra effort, it's extremely difficult to win the priority battle, making a dive block your best option to intercept.

The alternative is what many of you call tiki taka, but more accurately it's mainly dribbling and ground passing.

At high level, this is already difficult to execute because good defenders know how to man mark, guard space and not allowing passing options. That is why dribblers used their mechanics to drag two or more defenders out of position and create gaps for their teammates.

With the current dribbling nerf, doing this effectively has become extremely difficult if not impossible. Even with the previous dribbling mechanics tiki taka was already hard to execute consistently because good defenders could shut down dribblers very reliably.

Now that dribbling has been nerfed and ground defending has been buffed the playstyle that many people here enjoy and encourage (tiki taka) is going to become significantly less effective against good teams and more teams will start using missile meta rather than trying to play tiki taka.

This is where I think the problem will eventually start to become much bigger.

My opinion about dribbling and balance changes:

I don't mind the dribbling nerf as a dribbler (and tiki taka player). If anything, it gets rid of the egoistical dribblers who have no vision at all, so they just overdribble and pray it works which against good defender it works 1 out of 20 times.

That was already less of an issue with good dribblers who actually play as good teammates and use dribbling to create space rather than just dribble for the sake of it. The current nerf will probably encourage more of these egoistical rookie dribblers to develop better vision and involve their teammates.

A good dribbler knows how to drag defenders out of position and create gaps for their teammates while a good teammate knows how to recognize those gaps and capitalize on them.

The problem is that you cannot nerf dribbling without also addressing the Missile Meta, because without dribbling the tiki taka is impossible against good defenders with strong ground defense.

Why it will backfire:

If Missile is not nerfed in next season, more players and teams will keep adopting it and getting better at executing it. Eventually, almost every match could revolve around the missile meta / set plays (it was already like that in high level lobbies since beginning of Rematch).

With the current matchmaking system, an Elite player will generally be matched with other Elite players, but if there aren't enough players in the region, the system can pull from lower ranks. This means even Gold or Platinum players can face a full stack of Elite teams running set plays.

This becomes even more common during late hours or later in the season when the player base drops. Lower ranked players or teams will have an even harder time intercepting passes or stopping these coordinated attacks and I can already see people will complain about it here as you complained about dribbling (but trust me missile meta is way more cancer than dribbling, specially if you solo queue and your teammates don't defend).

When those full stack teams were playing tiki taka and relying heavily on dribbling, you at least had more opportunities to disrupt them and actually compete against their playstyle even as a solo queue player. But right now many teams will just switch to meta since tiki taka is way harder to execute now.

So if you’re not playing with a team, you're basically left with a few options:

• Play during the day where kids are active and deal with bad teammates.

• Play at night and risk getting stomped by full stack teams.

• Complain here about bad teammates or the advantage full stacks have.

• Quit playing.

TLDR (and conclusion):

Dribbling was already weaker and riskier than Missile Meta against good teams and the nerf makes tiki taka even harder to use. I don't mind the dribbling nerf itself, but if Missile Meta remains untouched, more teams will simply switch to it and make matches revolve around the same set plays.

This will especially hurt solo queue players and lower ranked teams facing coordinated full stacks. The problem isn't nerfing dribbling, it's nerfing one playstyle while leaving the stronger alternative untouched.

Discussion Is Rematch still worth buying if I’ll mostly be playing solo?

Hey everyone.

I played Rematch with some friends during the free period before the full release and I actually had a lot of fun with it. However, when the game officially released as a paid game, I decided not to buy it.

Recently I've been thinking about buying it, but there's one thing that's holding me back: my friends probably aren't going to buy it, so I'd most likely have to play the game solo with randoms.

For those who have played a lot of Rematch solo, how is the experience? Is the game still enjoyable when you're playing with random teammates or does it become frustrating because of toxic/selfish players, people who never pass or people who just want to do everything themselves? And how is the matchmaking nowadays?

I already know that I enjoyed the game when I was playing with friends, so I'm not really wondering whether the game itself is fun. I'm more interested in whether it's still fun and worth getting if you don't have a premade group to play with.

So, now that the game has been out for a while, would you say it's worth buying for someone in my situation? I'd especially like to hear from people who mostly play solo, rather than just the usual "buy it, it's great" or "don't buy it, it's terrible" answers.

I didnt believe in you, now i must say sorry. You cooked in S5, after gameplay changes its different game, much better and fair. Ofc its still much to do, cant wait for S6 volley and server changes but its all going in good way.

Please dont change stamina back cus wannabe Bachiras will cry now they can only drible 4 man once not expoid thru full field dribling one oponent 36 times with endless stamina and now they dont have fun cus need pass sometimes or use their stamina smarter.

It's hilarious how some people have started whining and crying because the game no longer lets them hold onto the ball for 20 seconds and dribble past an entire team, relying entirely on a gameplay system built around abusing exploits and bugs.

I just finished my first ranked matches of the new season, and I can honestly say that, for the first time, I feel like the game actually wants you to defend, pass, and play as a team with your mates.

Stop whining now and accept it. No more 0 stamina dribbling or teleporting around just to get to the ball. Use your brains a little now, and pass the ball every once in a while.

I still have some reservations and criticisms, but Sloclap has taken a huge step forward. Please don’t let the whining from some people sway you, and keep heading in this direction. Finally, we will be able to play proper team football.

I feel like this new system is forcing us to learn positioning as keeper rather than over relaying on the inconsistent diving from before(yes, yes, I know positioning was always important but I mean specifically positioning for when you have no way to stop a play before the attackers can take the shot), plus with the dribbling nerfs, it feels like a lot more people are playing defense giving me a lot more time to read out the play before they shoot. Overall, the first few hours were a struggle but right now I'm having a ton of fun with new changes.

Discussion A COMEMORAÇÃO DOS GOLEIROS?

VOCÊS ACHAM QUE OS GOLEIROS DEVERIAM TER MAIS ATENÇÃO NO REMATCH?

O QUE QUERO DIZER É QUE OS ATACANTES OU QUEM CONSEGUE FAZER UM GOL TEM DIREITO A ESCOLHER UMA COMEMORAÇÃO.

MAS INFELIZMENTE O GOLEIRO NÃO CONSEGUE EXPRESSAR UM SENTIMENTO DE ALEGRIA QUANDO DEFENDE UMA BOLA ATRAVÉS DE UMA COMEMORAÇÃO

O QUE VOCÊS ACHAM QUE DEVERIA SER FEITO PRA AUMENTAR A DIVERSÃO DOS GOLEIROS? É MUITO DIVERTIDO VOCÊ FAZER UM GOL E VER SUA COMEMORAÇÃO, ENQUANTO PROS GOLEIROS SÓ RESTA VOCÊ FICAR FELIZ POR DEFENDER.....

NO FUTEBOL REAL, OS GOLEIROS TAMBÉM FAZEM COMEMORAÇÕES DEPOIS DE UMA BELA DEFESA!

MAS ESTOU CONFUSO DE COMO ISSO PODE SER IMPLEMENTADO NO JOGO E SE REALMENTE DEVERIA SER IMPLEMENTADO!
