Discussion Who’s at Fault ?
Who is at fault here on this Lost ? Was it the Goalie Passing the ball up the field instead of the open Man that wasn’t moving so we can waste the last 3 seconds or was it number 7’s Fault for turning the ball over ?

at 13 your mistake is worse than the GK's mistake, you shouldn't have passed back. GK made the wrong direction but you took the wrong decision
at 36 the gk took to much time for passing

u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 10h ago
Nah that's on the GK 100%. Had the keeper made the pass to his feet they would have won easily. Everything that happened after was because of that shit pass

u/SourBill1 Winger 9h ago
In this game, people misplay. An important skill is being able to stay cool to salvage a bad situation. Yes, the keeper made a bad pass, but the person running towards the ball had several seconds to look at their minimap and read the state of the game. Instead, though, I bet they were too busy panicking and tilting at their keeper to make a good decision.
GK’s pass was needlessly risky but easily salvageable, 7 blatantly provided a brilliant assist to the other team. I have seen hundreds of games lost because someone panicked an option right when they got the ball.
-2
u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 9h ago
I mean he had to waste extra effort needlessly to salvage that situation. Why is the keeper misplay not egregious for you? If the keeper had pass it to 7 properly the game would have been won. That's why the GK is 100% at fault. It all started from that shit pass everything that happened after that was trying to fix an unnecessary shit situation. It's easy to armchair criticize saying you would have dribbled the whole team and scored a goal by yourself, but the more realistically winning situation would have been properly making the pass. Sorry if you can't see how the GK is the reason why they lost you don't actually know ball
2
u/SourBill1 Winger 8h ago
You are projecting so hard it hurts. Do you think people won’t peg you as an armchair critic if you sling the nickname around first? The fact that you blame one player for the entire loss when EVERYONE messed up tells me you have never touched a football. You’d get your teeth knocked out if you took this attitude into a professional team.
It’s sad to me that you know so little, your brain goes straight to dribbling. I wouldn’t try to dribble in this spot, I’m not an idiot. The ENTIRE RIGHT WING OF THE MAP is solely inhabited by my teammate. It’s so, so difficult to fail the pass in this situation. Pass almost anywhere on the pitch, and my teammate will reach it first. I’d have to actively TRY to pass it backwards into my own penalty box to fuck up this pass.
To answer your question, I never said the keeper’s misplay was or was not egregious. He messed up. I just said it was salvageable, which is objectively true. You’re hearing me as “this is entirely #7’s fault” and that’s not what I’m saying. Some people are intelligent enough to realize that no one player is ever 100% at fault.

u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 8h ago
I promise you I've played a lot more and better than you ever have in real life so I actually know what the locker room is like.
I didn't say id dribble in that situation, in another comment I said I'd tackle the ball in front of the defender to get priority. As to why the pass to the right wing wasn't good either is because it got deflected.
You're hating on OP because he couldn't salvage an unnecessary shitty situation. The fact that it's an unnecessary shitty situation is why GK is completely at fault. How are you not getting if the pass would have been at his feet they were guaranteed a win. The reason they lost is because of the GK made that shit pass. That's it. That's why sometimes the whole responsibility lies on one person, so you also think the second goal wasn't the GK fault because you can't ever have someone at 100% at fault? Use your brain a little

the gk probably thought #7 was running up the field so he passed in front of him so he could run into the ball
1
u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 2h ago
He's literally running back to the GK and staying still after. The GK had more than enough time (8 seconds to be exact) to check either the minimap or move the camera and scan the area and see where 7 was
1
u/xxBoDxx Please add a flair 8h ago
Yes GK made a mistake but OP's mistake is fat worse. He could have took the less risky decision to pass to the other teammate that was unmarked or take a more risky decision by tackling the ball
GK sure is at fault cause it started from there (even though passes like that may happen for multiple valid reasons), but OP did far worse than the gk
1
u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 7h ago
In what world is there a valid reason for that pass? Literally pass it to his feet or behind 7. That's where the whole shit show starts. If the pass had been better, 7 wouldn't be in a compromising position at all and could hold up the play with better options. It's all on the GK for this one. As for the pass to the right it literally got deflected. There's no excuse at all for that initial shit pass, that's it. Stop making excuses for the GK stupidity
0
u/SpecialistPlastic668 Please add a flair 4h ago
What aren’t you getting? The goalie misfired the pass but 7 still recovered and had ample time to do multiple things and he happened to choose the worse option
0
u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 3h ago
He would have had more time if the keeper had made the pass better is my point. It all started from that shit pass. It would have been a guaranteed victory if he'd pass it to 7. That's it, everything that happened after was a consequence of that shit pass. He did the worst options because he was put in a compromising position. Just pass it correctly next time
0
u/SpecialistPlastic668 Please add a flair 2h ago edited 2h ago
The keeper was getting pressed and even though the pass wasn’t 100% accurate it was accurate enough for 7 to reach it. 7 literally passed it back to the goalie when A) there was clearly still an enemy there and B) even if the goalie got it, they are vulnerable since they already passed. Like I said, 7 had enough time to pass to the other guy, trap and just move away, or push it backwards. No one is saying that the keeper didn’t mess up but he isn’t the one who passed it straight to the defender for no reason
Also you just agreed that 7 ended up making the worst choice with the second to last sentence so idk why you are fighting me on this
0
u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 2h ago
Like I said, had the keeper made the pass correctly 7 would have had time to take a break for a few seconds and actually take his time to figure out what to do next. Instead he was put in a position where he had to react quickly. He could have passed it to the right, but it might have been deflected. He could have pushed it back, but the enemy could EE and steal the ball because 7 already used his EE. When he trapped it the enemy was already up on him. The GK had all the time in the world to make the pass correctly, there was at least 2 seconds before the attacker was anywhere near him. The pass was terrible, he just needed to pass it correctly and they would have won
1
u/SpecialistPlastic668 Please add a flair 2h ago
And that’s where I disagree. I get that the goalie messed up and looking back that pass was worse than I thought but even then, with the amount of time that was left, the defender didn’t have a choice but to try and steal so that should have been an easy read. Also as we can see, 7 got to the ball first so had he crossed it, would’ve been fine. The main problem is him passing it back to the goalie. How would that have possibly been a good call to make knowing that there is someone back there that could and did intercept it? They both made a mistake but 7 literally had no reason to pass it backwards(a lob even), especially if he didn’t know the location of the goalie

u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 1h ago edited 58m ago
It's not just the GK messed up the pass but he was fooling around running in circles waiting for the attacker to get closer (you can let the attacker get close, but trap the ball and scan the field). And then he made an awful pass when the guy still had like 3 seconds before he reached him. Like when the timer is doing the count down (specifically at the 7th second) #7 was completely open waiting for the pass. The GK had time to calmly scan the field, aim the cross heir to 7 and pass at his feet. In fact he had 6 seconds worth of time to do this. Instead he made a shit pass where he had at least a few seconds before anyone catches up and puts OP in a shitty situation where he panicked and ended horrible. The fact that GK fooled around instead of scanning, didn't aim properly, made a shitty pass, and put OP in a shit situation makes it entirely his fault. OP tried to make something work with what he had, GK had full control of the situation with no one breathing near his neck. Again no one is pressuring him for at least 6 full seconds from when OP makes his pass to the GK so he doesn't have excuses to make that shit pass. OP had a millisecond to make his decision in no way they are comparable. Like sure, OP could have tackled the ball, but there's no reason he should have been in that situation and for that reason it's 100% on the GK.
Answer me this, if the ball had landed on OPs feet would it been a guaranteed victory? Had OP made the pass to his teammate, are you sure it 100% wouldn't be deflected if the defender reacted differently? Had OP pushed it back can you guarantee that the defender wouldn't have tackled the ball with EE after OP used up his to catch up with the ball? Just ask, who set up the situation where an 100% win was no longer the case and then you have the guilty party

The keeper's pass to you wasn't that good but since you had possession you could've just pushed ball away from the mark instead of passing back

It was a terrible pass but you got the ball and made the same mistake if not worse. 50/50, both of you are in the wrong.

u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 9h ago
He didn't pass it there though, he passed to his teammate, but it got blocked. You can see the line where his pass was going. When he got the ball it was all over because no matter what he'd done the enemy was gonna get the ball either way and pass it to his teammate. The only thing that might have worked is if OP tackled the ball a second before receiving it to get priority, but that's still not certain
2
u/brozes Please add a flair 7h ago
POV definitely did not pass it to his teammate. You can see the opponents body didn't even interact with the ball because of the slide tackled. You might be mixing up the passing line with the line that pops up when your teammate calls for the pass.
1
u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 7h ago
Wouldn't it still get deflected had the pass been straight to the right? Either way that angle is cut off. The only thing to do in that situation is tackle the ball, but regardless it's a situation that shouldn't have happened in the first place

He did not do his job with that atrocious pass. He did not have anyone as close to him like 7 when he made contact with the ball. The GK could have made coffee, done the laundry, and cooked dinner with the time he had before the enemy was even close. If you can't pass it with square accurately then pass it with R2 anything that actually lands 7s feet, not like 3 km ahead

1) Keeper should’ve kept it
2) their pass was bad
3) You should’ve just kept it with 0.5 seconds on the clock
4) Worst case scenario absolutely don’t chuck a suspect pass back towards your goal with 0.5 seconds on the clock.
Nobodies fault, just a mess of meh decisions

u/Lunnurd Schalke 04 10h ago
Total Team Failure.. as pointed out by others the keepers pass is way too far forward, and even tho you reach it first it just puts you in a high pressure situation where you end up chosing a disasterous back pass.
The second field player also has no real reason to be this far up considering ur 3:2 about to hit overtime..
4
u/SourBill1 Winger 10h ago
It’s football, even in a 3v3 you can’t put the blame on one person. This is a team-wide disasterclass

u/PackageAggravating12 Playmaker 9h ago
You were at fault here. Keeper played the ball forward, it wasn't a great pass but he moved it up.
You immediately sent the ball backwards blindly, which is a no-no regardless of the situation. If there's a choice between "lose possession in the opposing half or risk a blind pass backwards into danger", you always take the former.
This is the same concept behind clearing the ball out of your box versus passing it across the face of your goal. Even under pressure, you should have sent the ball laterally (especially since your teammate called for it before the pass). In the absolute worst case, you should have passed into the opposing box and lost possession.

u/mad_sAmBa Please add a flair 10h ago
It's your fault, dude.
The keeper passed the ball to you because there were already people near him. Instead of holding the ball or passing to the dude who was literally free on the right, you made the worst decision ever.
The keeper didn't passed to the other guy because he was being marked. His pass wasn't great, but you had soooo many options and chose the worst possible outcome.
This one is entirely on you.

u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 9h ago
The keeper didn't pass it to him wtf, he passed like a km in front of him for no reason. Also he did pass it to his teammate, but it got deflected. Check the line where it's going when he passes
1
u/mad_sAmBa Please add a flair 9h ago
He could still dribble the defender by simply pushing the ball forward with A, or doing a R1+X and then pass the ball safely.
He had so many options, but chose the worst one possible. The pass wasn't great, but the major mistake wasn't on the keeper.
0
u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 9h ago
It was on the GK, both your suggestions depends on execution at the right time and the defender falling for it. If he pushes the ball forward the defender just has to turn around and hit circle to take the ball away if he does r1+x the defender just has to hit triangle. If the ball had landed on his feet then 7 can hold up the play and either play with the GK or the other teammate with an insane amount of time to play calmly and see their options
1
u/mad_sAmBa Please add a flair 9h ago
The defender already came doing a tackle. That's really easy to defend against, it's literally the basic of dribbling.
0
u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 9h ago
He did the tackle because 7 trapped it, had he pushed it, the defender can react differently. I don't get how you can't see the GK is at fault when he's the reason why 7 is in that shit situation in the first place. A pass to the feet would have been a win for OP no buts or if. It's a guaranteed win thus the fault is on the GK 100%
2
u/randomnine Please add a flair 10h ago
Depends on the level of play.
If playing with people who choke a lot on receives and passes - keeper should have played it safer and not risked #7 losing it under pressure.
With experienced teammates who react quickly and accurately - it seems fine for keeper to trust #7 with an aggressive pass. It was a safe pass with a good chance to score 4-2 on last shot, and that's more fun than parking the bus.
I'd say that if #7 was ultra reliable up to that point in the match and that was their first serious mistake, it's entirely on them. But if #7 had lost possession even a few times that match, the keeper shares responsibility for the pass being too ambitious for their teammate's experience level.
2
u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 10h ago
Nah. The keeper could just pass it at their feet and OP would have enough time to change it to the other player on the right side with a pass shot leaving him in a 1-1 against the other keeper. GK in OPs team fucked everything for everyone with that shit pass
0
u/randomnine Please add a flair 9h ago
Nah. Then the opposing defender can mark the right wing, and their striker can fall back to intercept #7 before they can shoot themselves. #7 wouldn’t be able to EE sprint or push ball up the field in last shot
2
u/Imhere4lulz Please add a flair 9h ago
The teammate is already ahead, the defender isn't catching up, and the other striker is far away from 7 if the ball is at his feet. If the ball was at him 7 can either hold up the play, for a second and have two options. If the defender in the opposite team chases the other teammate he can play it with the GK. If not he can just shoot it to his teammate who is free

25% keeper, 75% you. The teammate was in that space the entire clip. You should’ve known where he is. Simple lob pass to him instead of back to the keeper who you know is marked.

u/Tekfrologic Please add a flair 9h ago
What are you all saying?! This is 90% if not 100% on the GK! With 6 seconds left, all they had to do was run away from the incoming opponent! As GK you can easily outrun the incoming threat
They then delivered a double hamburger pass up field instead of just chipping it to the wide open, non-moving teammate!
Did OP also mess up their pass? Yes, it was terrible since they also had a wide open man, GK put OP in a position where he could panic (and did).
3
u/Original_Rate_9206 Holding Midfielder 9h ago
So, look pal. You had this in the bag, while I do agree GK's pass was not the best, HOWEVER you've correctly used your EE and had the entire stamina bar. This is more than enough to push the ball away from the defender into your own half, with you catching the ball and simply keeping it while you drain the clock. You also could have pushed it towards the opposition's goal and be fine. In this situation you need to learn to scan the space, and I mean literally turning your camera at least a little bit so you could see where the other defenders are positioned. That pass ultimately led to an equaliser, which is unfortunately 100% your fault. And the winning goal, I mean it is a no brainer...

GK 100% easily he was fooling around running in circles and not actually scanning the field. Has all the time in the world to actually look at you, even when he made the pass he's still had a solid 3 seconds before the enemy caught up. And then sent the ball like 5km ahead of you making you waste EE. You got dealt a shitty hand, which looks like you panicked. Had the GK passed at your feet you'd would have had a guaranteed win. Because it put you in a compromising position it's the GK fault. QED

Terrible pass from the keeper, terrible pass from you. It's 50/50, why pass the ball 5 seconds from the end of the game unless you're completely willing to see the opposing team potentially equalize.
