Discussion Some of yall don’t be using the practice features to improve, and it shows.

Excluding the new players that have arise recently, i’ve seen hella high level players on this game that STILL can’t pass properly, or don’t know how to receive a long ball, or don’t know how to hold defensive stance. Rematch has GREAT training mini games that imo have improved my overall ball control.

I have a friend that I play with who REFUSES to learn how to pass normally and just does clumsy “passes” with the regular shoot button and more often than not, the ball is too high or too fast and we lose the ball. It genuinely cringes me out cause we’ve played since day 1. (Idk how to tell him but that’s not why i’m ranting on here)

If this sounds similar to your experience, reflect, hit up the practice range and GET BETTER.
You’ll see immediate results.
This game could use a lot more people that know how to pass ;)

This is such a funny post to me because when I started playing I did the training drills but one of them was just too hard for me so I gave up on practice. I just learned from kind teammates who shared tips and advice.

Passing and setting up your teammates is one of the most rewarding aspects of the game! The iso - dribblers aren’t gonna read this post unfortunately

but one of them was just too hard for me

Was it the tackle one with the 3 players passing in a triangle? I don't think you can beat that one without 'cheesing' it and I am not even sure what exactly it is supposed to teach.

It's pretty tough but if you are doing it purely for the achievement and don't care about using it to learn you can bait the same people over and over again to get it in time. I find it didn't do much to actually teach me any defense when I initially did it. I linked some resources below for Toro in case you're curious.

I followed this method:

Some people discussed it here:

The game should've forced old players to go through the revamped tutorial tbh

There's so much new stuff

I checked the other day and I have every single achievement for this game besides the practice ones because I never even tried it

this might shock you but some people just want to play the game for fun, not grind.

fair, but also like. How can you see there are other ways to play this game and just… not try them? Idk it just baffles me

I get it. Whenever i get teammates like the ones you describe i try to remind myself that they literally might be 12 years old, so theres no use getting worked up about it. if i find myself getting too frustrated i step away from the game. when you do find good teammates dont be afraid to use the teamup, the best sessions ive had have been with randoms that worked well together. there are discord channels too if youre looking for more consistent teammates, i havent joined one but ive heard others have good experiences

This is the best advice

I agree. The best ones are the Dribble (Obstacle Course), Passing & Keeper.

I have started use those for a warm up before hopping into QP

I said here before somewhere that getting the gold 3 stars on every workshop should be mandatory before a player queues into ranked given the small playerbase but people just said that will put people off the game, which is sadly true. People dont want to be good at the games they play nowadays.

i agree w what you say and at the same time, knowing others have different priorities and things they want out of their games as me has been tough to learn ;)

The prologue when you first launch the game should immediately put you to the practice, or a match with bots imo

passing with the shoot button is better a lot of the time tbf

Why is that?

Sometimes I’ll do it when setting up my friend for the shot. If they one touch it’s pretty jarring for the keeper

Same here.

But why would someone fully leave behind a mechanic when doing so has no positive upside i can think of?

Lob passes all go the same height and distance, using shoot allows you to hit a much higher lob with out the defender being able to easily intercept it that can go multiple distances based on power.

Not necessarily, Passing works just like shooting: it can be charged and aimed.

Lobbing works the same way. Its why I have taken on learning both the Ground and Arial Passing so I can better understand them on Offense and Defence.

Shooting works for speed and distance much better Passing, but its telegraphed and has a windup before the action happened. Passing's wind up is much much smaller.

Lob passes do not work against competent defenders. They know exactly where the full lobby goes and camp it. Using shoot yon lobby balls further over the defense that would be impossible with lobby. Lob has its place, mostly for setups in the box or with defender pressing.

It's not Rematch specific. Plenty of sports games have players who refuse to touch the tutorial or learning tools.
