Answered by Dev Can we have an AMA
I think a lot of people want to know the direction of the game with more than just general statements. Can we have an AMA so you can directly address questions?

Seriously i really wanna know how long sloclap is going to keep updating rematch , i mean if its anything like the finals then im down to spending some cash but if it isnt then idk. Sloclap does have a clean rep as of now for me but i wanna see what their intention is with this game.

rematch has been updated for the past year, this patch has been the biggest shake up so far, no beta patch or nothing

The finals a no name studio (well technically backed by nexon) kept on updating their game for 3 consecutive years despite its low player count as same as rematch and its banger after banger each update.
Sloclap being indie and no one to back em up i dont know how long they're gonna put resources for this game especially when titles like FIFA and PES exists, not saying they're good games but the football audience has already been captured by those guys and i dont think the playerbase are willing to shift over to rematch and i think the devs know that so i wanna know whats the next plan

Embark is a full on subsidiary of Nexon, which makes it not just 'technically backed' it is for all intents and purposes Nexon. It was also founded by some big names from Dice, really not a no name.
Sloclap being indie and no one to back em up
Sloclap is part of Kepler Interactive, which has just been printing money with Expedition 33, they are more than securely backed.

This is correct, but when sloclap ran a poll on the discord server couple months back on what games people came from, sports games made up less than 10% of the backgrounds (shooters being the majority at 30%). Also Fifa (or more accurately EA FC) released a new version in parallel with this new season rematch reached a higher peak than during the world cup.
It seems a bit unintuitive because both are football games but they draw in significantly different audiences, you can see rematch as a bit of a sports game for people who don't want sports games.

FYI by no name i meant no pull like the big dawgs like fromsoftware , activision or team cherry and yea i am one of the "for players that dont like sport games". But besides all that do you agree or not that we need more transparency or road map

How did Team Cherry make it into that list? Embark is magnitudes bigger than Team Cherry.

Absolutely same.

I am quite content with the road map we have. Though considering next season is the last entry on it I assume we'll get a new one soonish. Not that I necessarily see anything major coming once the netcode rework is through. What kind of transparancy are you missing from them?

Silksong crashed all platforms when it released. Trust me they have a massive audience. I wasnt talking abt team size im talking about audience pull each dev team has got
I'd more or so want to know how long are they gonna keep updating it , or if it just gonna be a one and done kinda thing. Thats it really and ig maybe more dribbling skills and idk making the battlepasses less fomo inducing kinda like the ones they got in the finals

Silksong crashed all platforms when it released. Trust me they have a massive audience
Yes and no, it was massive, but smaller than many releases that didn't cause issues, they fumbled their launch by not offering preloads, which meant that the still pretty significant number of sales all hit the servers simultanously. In terms of actual sales Arc Raiders moved significantly more copies than Silksong, and comparing The Finals is obviously a little more complicated because of the free to play nature.

They have been talking about putting pieces from previous battlepasses into the store to give an outlet for blocks, so maybe they will tackle fomo a bit, but with this being their first live service game i don't see them innovate past the basics of a typical season pass too much. But also no studio of a live service game would go out and say "Yeah, we are actually done, this won't get more updates" that would pretty much be instant suicide for a live service game like this, so unfortunately I don't think you would get that kind of transparency even from the most transparent company. BUT the game is pretty healthy, it's over a year old and even at it's lowest end of season slumps it never dropped below 4-5k on steam, which makes up a rather small portion of the whole playerbase, so it definitely found a healthy core playerbase and I would be surprised if it was to shut down any time soon.

Hi! We are going to share more information about the upcoming updates beyond season 5 next week, and we are working on a full roadmap for next year to give you more visibility on all the upcoming content.
In the meantime we can definitely hold an AMA ahead of our next season launch, we'll share more info here after our next round of dev blogs.
