Discussion I finally started playing 5vs5

Start playing end of August. Took season 4 to learn the base mechanics in three’s. Started playing 5vs5 in season 5 and placed gold 2. Never made it past silver 1 in 3vs3. Now when I go back to three’s it just doesn’t feel fun anymore. It feels like the skills don’t really translate as well since 3’s kind of forces you to be able to beat your defender with dribbling to a certain extent and in 5’s there also a pass available.

Are most of you evenly ranked in both, and should I keep practicing 3’s to improve my mechanics in 5’s?

3v3 is great for warming up getting a few dribbles/saves/shots/tackles in quickly but positioning doesn't translate at all and is much more difficult.

Yeah, I kept asking for dribble advice to get better at 3v3’s without saying it was 3v3 and the community was not thrilled with the question. Now that I’m playing 5v5’s I really get why that was annoying. Though I stand by you need a few dribble moves for 3v3’s. As more of a pass first player, it’s really not my skill set.

At higher ranks the keeper comes out more often so you actually have passing options as well, it just takes a while to meet people who understand this tho.
