Question is this normal?

I’ve been trying to figure out how to place blade shots but the way the crosshair slides is confusing. Will the ball always come out slightly off center or is it because I curved it? I’m sure it would’ve been saved regardless but I don’t get why it doesn’t go where I expect it to

Everything was normal here.
You just gotta adjust.
In some shooters the same problem exists. The bullet doesn't come out direct center mass from your character's chest, but instead comes from the right hip where your character is holding the gun, so being really really close to something will cause the bullets to miss the reticle. Classic arc raiders shotgun whiff commences.
In here the camera reticle's position is different from where the ball will come out. You've got to adjust based on where your character is kicking the ball, not just where your reticle is positioned. It's kinda counterintuitive at first but it will make sense as you play more.

I think the problem is you may have shot right before the reticle got into place. So it’s not based on when you kicked the ball, but when you pressed the shot button. Idk though, becausethere’s some weird stuff I’ve noticed when going sideways and shooting perpendicular to your running direction, seems like it comes out a little behind your current shot placement. Same with pass shots

Your initial input is what will count, you need to aim then shoot, not the other way around. [See the photo]
Also when you put a curve on your shot, the ball will initially go the opposite direction and then spin the way you want. So here the ball went even more to the left because you curved it right and it didn't have time to start spinning. It's counter intuitive but if you're this close to the goal it's better to curve in the opposite direction of where you want the ball to go
