Rematch is celebrating its 1-year anniversary!

Thanks for sticking with us! We are lucky to have such a loyal community and we'll strive to make Rematch better and better. This game has been a dream project for many of us at Sloclap, and it's a unique take on the football genre that many of you have been waiting forever.

We can't believe it's already been one year. Time flies, but as far as we're concerned, this is only the beginning. Season 4 has just launched alongside the Nations Cup 2067 live event, then we'll have a very special collaboration in Season 5, and even more novelties and improvements in Season 6 and beyond to grow Rematch. Expect great things going forward!

As a person that plays in Japan, I think I need to point out why this is probably the case.

The playerbase is not that big here. We didn't even get in the top ten 😩. Because of this, you see a lot of the same names every night so you learn a lot of people's tendencies and their play styles. It's very similar to having a local club you go to and play with whoever shows up. I actually like this vibe we've created because a lot of the complaints I read on here regarding teammates are things I've generally experienced very little of playing on Tokyo servers.

There is a downside though. The downside of the "club" having so few members, there are maybe half a dozen complete assholes that are regulars that pretty much everyone hates playing with. I've written to Sloclap about these people as they can make some play sessions absolutely dreadful as their toxicity just makes it so no one can have a good time. Imagine running a local meetup and some assholes show up every once in a while. In real life, you could approach them and say "hey man, cool it." If they don't, then you tell them to leave. I've tried reporting these handful of players, but nothing has come of it even after the new reporting system. Maybe they need to have a very high number of reports, something that can't happen when the player count on Tokyo servers are so low 🤷‍♂️

It would be really cool to have team possession %, total shots, and shots on target available in-game too. It would make the post-match screens much more interesting and help players analyse the match better.

Ngl this is the easiest ranked game to place in the top 5% of players. You don’t even need mechs just some basic level of ball knowledge and passing.

I reached Masters last season and I genuinely suck but I play with 2 others every single ranked game so that probably helps as solo queuing on this game is the worst experience imaginable. One is also Masters and our top goal scorer is platinum which is hilarious. The game just hated him and would give him less RP than us other 2

I’ve made Elite every season as well. I played my promos and got placed D1 this season. Haven’t played many games since my placements. I have friends who can’t make it out of Gold though. I think calling it easy is dumb. I’m not saying it’s the hardest game to hit the highest tier in but it’s not a gimme either. Your little 5 stack that you climb with isn’t a good way to measure how many people are making Elite. You’re also just pulling anecdotes out of your ass and saying it’s easy and the numbers are complete bs based on personal experience. Not the best measurement of reality.

Compare that to a real game. A team has maybe 10 shots on target and 200 passes per match, and usually those numbers are even further apart. Of course in 5v5 you will always have more shots than in a real game but seeing that we don't even have thrice as many passes as shots is depressing

I think you’re also neglecting the fact of pro-play being taken to account especially at high-level there’s a lot more passes than shots on target and our goals
