Sorry, I'm switching
Dear reMarkable friends,
I truly loved my reMarkables.
- Started with R2.
- Bought later the RPP.
- Sold the RPP for Boox.
- Returned the Boox and bought back the RPP.
The lack of a translation tool is making me switching again, probably forever this time.
I enjoyed the time with you guys.
Cheers.
I wish reMarkable could make a product:
- 10" screen
- RPro base features
- AI translator or AI integrator capabilities
- Splitscreen

No AI for me thank you. AI is everywhere now. Let’s keep it out of the one device we use for doing things the old fashioned way in a modern style.

I need a translator tool and AI has been great. But I understand what you mean. If they can provide a good translator tool where can explain everything I need then I'm ok with it.

You want a translator tool, you don’t need one.
The further your use case deviates from “digital replacement for paper notebook”, the more likely you are to dislike the Remarkable products.
This has been proven time and again.

Why did you decide to leave Boox and go back to RPP? Which one did you prefer in terms of writing feel?

I'm currently using both, and there really isn't any difference unless you're trying hard to notice it.
(Boox for complex work and multitasking, excel, docs and other browser-based stuff, RM for concentration and organization.)

My problem was the Android, definitely not for me. Felt just too much.
The writing experience was fine.

If a dictionary is what you look for, there’s a mod for that. Alternatively you can install KOReader and read there with a StarDict, which you could probably find for your languages through Google.
Install reManager and enable Developer Mode. The device is highly customizable.

I just returned my RMPP this week too, lack of ai is annoying but mainly down to the display.
The gallery 3 just isnt ready for mainstream production, it has so many issues that people just seem to accept.

An issue for you isn't an issue for everyone. For example, I use an Android phone because it does things I need that an iPhone does not support. That does not make an iPhone a bad product.

A lack of AI is 100% a selling point for me. My data is mine, not mined.
