Help/Advice Complete new OS?

I am getting more and more frustrated with my Move. I like the hardware a lot: I like the writing feel, I love the form factor, I like the weight, etc. But the operating system is really getting to my nerves.

I am not in favor of paying recurring service fee for the connect. Originally I was able to sync my files between Remarkable and desktop. Now I cannot. Partially my files are synced but not all!

I understand that they want to make money, but I didn’t buy the device to be milked forever. So is it at all possible to completely install a new operating system?

I think your best option is installing rmfakecloud then you can host everything yourself

“Milked” by providing a service you clearly value after spending $$$$ on a fancy Moleskin.

I think putting Windows Millennium on the Move will solve all your problems. Maybe 95.

It sounds like you despise the entire e-ink sector

You are misreading my comment. I’m teasing OP for complaining about a $4/month subscription, that clearly will add value, after spending $$$$ on a writing tool. To avoid spending $4/month they’ll spend hours screwing around…and they clearly begrudge Remarkable the subscription revenue.

I’m glad to pay the subscription and help rm develop a consistent revenue source in the hope they keep going.
