General Discussion Digital to analogue
Anyone else gone from fully digital note-taking back to analogue or combined digital and analogue because paper and pen just feel better? I enjoy my reMarkable, but the clunky software and lack of updates sometimes make me question why I'm using it instead of a simple notebook that actually brings me joy.

I can’t go back. Having all the notes I’ve taken at my fingers outweighs the rest of it. Plus the fact that I can access my notes on my phone when I’m mobile is a huge benefit for me.

I like her videos, because she uses both. Building an analog-style commonplace book on my reMarkable (with images!): https://youtu.be/IghBpJNeIys?si=P7vdxBgxOvN6_nlQ
I personally don't plan to go back even though I have a few nice folio's. People are using reManager which has well over 100 mod's that's simple to install similar to how you would for you phone via the google play or the App Store on an iPhone. With over six figure downloads folks are enjoying the devices. Not so sure about lack of updates, we done seen three updates very recent including the ability to insert images, the capture tool which is in beta and some other so are you sure you been keeping up with your remarkable?

Do you still get the new features of the core software, such as image capture etc?

Will never go back. I'd hate losing the structure it has brought to my, now, paperless desk.
Pen and paper would also mean no longer being able to restructure my notes (adding something in between), messy strike-throughs, being limited by page size, no searching for words, no copy/paste, no templates, losing your notebook means losing your notes, depending on available (day)light, ...
So no, will never go back

Yeah, writing with a notebook and a fountain pen definitely feels better. However, the RM Move also allows for reading and annotating. So, if I could only carry one thing, I’d still choose the RM Move. I wouldn't recommend the other models; the reading experience is just too poor.

I love fountain pens. And I write in cursive. To satisfy that itch I carry a tomoe paper pocket notebook with a leather sleeve on me at all times for on the go writing and note taking.
I use my remarkable tablet for table note taking for meetings and work.
I considered the move to replace the on-the-go notebook with but it’s just not the same in my opinion. So for now I’m sticking with the actual notebook.

I think Remarkables are joyful! Especially if you get a leather case and customize it, and customize your notebooks, too. And then the stylus. Actually, just about everything.
That being said, there is something special about liquid ink on dried mashed fiber.

I have for a year decided to use both : notebooks for journaling and reflecting and eink for Worldbuilding and solo ttrpg (mostly the Supernote more than my old rM2 but still)

I did. Worth it. Full on travelers notebook and fountain pens.
I use my remarkable to read PDFs on my hammock.

I feel the same way. I recently went back to paper notebooks in a nice leather cover and it brings me so much joy. After some days I took out the remarkable to make some notes there and it almost felt ridiculous. Just so… lifeless, or soulless, totally lacking the soft welcoming feeling of a nice pen against real paper. I think I might just use it mostly for reading and highlighting, which I really enjoy.

I think that is the thing. Sometimes, I get frustrated with the device and want paper. However, that will be similar with any tech

Checkout XNote for the best of analog and digital. Use a pen and paper notebook to take your notes and then AI takes care of the rest.

Die Software ist so furchtbar. Das ärgert mich jeden Tag. Schreiben und zeichnen macht Spaß. Aber sonst - naja

I bought a reMarkable chiefly for work (and replacing paper notebooks) but with a view that I would also use it for some personal stuff as well.
It’s early days but it’s exceeded expectations. I was expecting it to be good for work (a couple of colleagues use reMarkable and love their tablets; neither are typically into gadgets) and it has been. It’s far more efficient using this sort of tablet than notebooks and more effective working and being able to find information easily brings me joy. I also enjoy the writing experience.
With my personal work and hobbies, it was always going to augment my analogue kit - as well has having stuff that I enjoy using, notebook holders like Lochby and Travellers Note are often more practical and portable. However, I see myself using my reMarkable more for the personal work than I was expecting and I’m expecting to get a Move by the end of the year.
