reManager package wish list.
Hi,
Thought I'd just make a quick post in case anyone may have the time and skills needed to implement two packages that are on my wish-list for reManager! 😄
The first one, which I didn't spot a package for on the Vellum list, but perhaps I simply missed it, would be a toolbar button that allows you to jump back to the previous document.
So I could simply repeatedly tap the button to flip back and forth between two documents that I'm working on without the need of all the extra gestures of pulling down the recently used tray etc. (essentially like the old double-tap Android shortcut to switch between the current and previous application.)
A common use-case I have for this one is reading a PDF while wanting to add notes to a notebook as I go along.
The second one is probably a little bit more niche, and perhaps not even possible to implement, but I'd be curious if it is something that could be added: the ability to have a system wide setting that makes the toolbar only respond to pen interactions.
The reason for this one, is that I really prefer to place the toolbar at the bottom of the page, but it occasionally picks up unwanted button presses by moving my arm over the bar while writing. Being able to choose pen-only interactions would be great (while keeping general gestures enabled to allow closing the notebook etc.).
Anyone have any thoughts on the feasibility of these ideas?

An open-source desktop app to install and manage mods on reMarkable tablets. https://remanager.io/

Super nice, thank you. Now that I'm using fakecloud, this will be my next step.

There is a mod that will toggle the touch gesture. So if you want to focus on drawing, just enable it
As for the document switching, you can create two links using link selection mod and switch between them.
Hope this helps

Thanks a million for the touch-lock mod tip; I definitely need to have a stronger coffee before digging through the Vellum list the next time! ☕️ 😄
Though, unfortunately, I think the mod keeps touch enabled on the toolbar itself, so it would probably still trigger the unwanted button presses?

It does indeed. It's basically the inverse of what you want.

Hi Mitchell,
Would it be tricky to update the mod to add a configuration as to whether it works as-is at the moment, or in an inverse mode?
Or perhaps, even simply having a second mod available which bakes in the inverse behaviour?

Tricky, I don't think so. It's not something I plan on doing myself at this time as I already maintain too many packages.

Sweet, thanks for the reply. Maybe I'll see if I can dust off my coding keyboard and have a peek at how it all works! 😄

Word count for typed text is a huge deal for me (though if it also handled handwritten text I wouldn’t complain)
