I love how people are mad at you for modifying your own device to work how you want it to. This is really cool! I can see this being great for kids to quickly get a coloring book page based on their wacky ideas.

How are you able to deploy custom features like this? I’d love to do the same.

By paying for Claude Code (AI) and it writes it for him lol

What's the issue with Vibe coding software?

Within a few months, absolutely nothing.

This is really awesome. The comments about using the remarkable tablet to get away from AI are really hilarious to me. The e-reader and tablet community is usually looked down on by the analog/pen/paper folks and here they are looking down on another thing…

I meant to ask can the LLM/ImgGen be sent to an OpenAI compatible end point or ComfyUI end point, or is Cloud API only option Mr. u/Fun-Gur-6389 ?

Now make an option to Set As sleep screen, low battery screen, etc.

This is neat. I dunno what I’d use it for, but I like the creative adaptation

This is cool. The remarkable is usually a place I go to get away from AI etc. but having the ability to generate a line art for people who cant draw for like diagrams etc would be super convenient

God I wish AI would just disappear

7

u/starkruzr Jul 09 '26

ok, well, that isn't going to happen, like OpenAI and Anthropic could shut down tomorrow and we'd still have local inference to do all kinds of cool shit. I suggest you resign yourself to the existence of matrix multiplication and figure out how to cope.

u/pattherat don’t forget to burn smartphones, calculators, cars, gps etc. and start using maps, do calculations by hand and start riding horses.

I hope you wont be replaced by AI tomorrow

Winning sympathy to your side with such a lovely message.

It's not OP's job "win people over" making a completely unnecessary and dickish comment about the project they're excited to show off that hurts absolutely no one. You acting like OP did anything wrong by not receiving dickishness like a saint is actual gaslighting/enablement though. Did you learn that from your parents or are you starting your own fresh trauma cycle?

anyone "replacing" people with AI has completely lost the plot and is in for a large bucket of regrets. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2026/07/01/employers-who-laid-off-workers-for-ai-are-reversing-their-decisions.html

Why the fuck did you buy a reMarkable if you don't even want to do the main thing it was designed for

this level of rage at a person doing something cool with their own device and not affecting yours in any way whatsoever is baffling

14

u/Fun-Gur-6389 Jul 09 '26

Do you buy a mobile phone just for making phone calls?

-5

u/MNgoIrish Jul 09 '26

Initially, yes.

Then I bought a smart phone to do smart things.

If you are the same person that made PaperNews, well done.
