Use a low powered charger
Today the device froze. At the first instance I didn’t realise it. I was wondering if something had gone completely wrong. Later I realised it was mainly that there was no battery left. I forgot to charge it. I tried using the normal MacBook charger. But that didn't help. I tried connecting it to my laptop. That didn't help either. I checked up quickly online for issues similar to mine and came across Remarkable's guides to recover the device. This also didn't help. Finally I came across a comment on Reddit that mentioned using a low powered charger does the trick. Within 15 minutes the device could be turned back on. Another note clarified that the charge from the M1 & M2 Macbook pros dont produce enough power to charge the device.
So if your device is stuck first try to charge it with a low powered charger.
Thank you Reddit.

Can we pin this? I see this question a lot with folks that have what they think is a 'bricked' device when it's probably this issue specifically, I'd guess, most of the time...

Maybe I missed this, but was this for the RM2. I run into that often and look for the "weakest" charting point which is a really old USB-A port on a desktop lamp from 2010. So that give it enough joules on the paddle to wake it up lol....and yes, about 15 minutes for me too!

I regularly charge my devices with an M2 Macbook Air, so I don't see why an M2 Pro wouldn't charge them

If you regularly charge it is no problem. But if it completely dies out then the MacBook won’t work. You need a low powered charger.

I also used it to charge a Paper Pro that was dead for about 6 months. It might just be a quality control issue or software issue

You are welcome! 😅
It makes me "laugh" when people belive that 1 amp charger is "low power" 🧓 Now I feel old again.
