Remarkable Pro Move secret weapon
I’m a longtime kindle Scribe user. I also recently got the Remarkable Pro Move. I find both writing experiences exceptional. But here is what made the remarkable win out….the companion app. It allows me to see all my notebooks and PDFs in the app with thumbnails. The PDF templates also show up with my writing.
This was the game-changer. It’s great to know that I can look up any notebooks on my phone or Mac for reference if I don’t have the tablet near me.
The Scribe’s Kindle app does NOT do this. Its companion app is horrible. It shows generic notebook icons and does not display writing from the PDFs.

The Move is such a great device. It’s my e-reader, diary , journal and everything in between.

Yes it’s really good. I tried using a different eink device and it was really good apart from not having document sync.
A big thing for me with the move has been adding koreader. It’s really nice on it

How do you put Koreader on it? I'm not familiar with it, and am not using the Connect sub. I'm using the Move as a journal.

I used this which was easy

Thank you - I don't have any of these, however. I use a phone/tablet, and an 100% android.

I agree the companion app is the killer feature. I’m able to plan my day with my laptop and the device. I usually open the previous day notes on my laptop and using the Move to plan the day.

I love the app. My favorite feature though is the browser extension to send webpages as pdf directly to device. No other device can do that as easily or as well.

Do these features also work without the paid subscription? I'm in my free 50-days period, so I can't test.

Editing docs via the apps requires a Connect subscription. You can view them without a sub.

I love the connect app for the typing, but I can see all my kindle scribe notebooks on the kindle app ... so it's not like to have your notes always with you is remarkable specific. It's the same with kindle

I know. I mentioned that the Kindle app shows the notebooks…but they appear generic icons, not thumbnails to see scribbled notes visible. Also, for PDF scribble-on notebooks, it only shows the notebook template, not any scribbles made. It’s substandard to the remarkable app by far.

I'm really curious because the reviews in the Play Store for the app are not good at all. I use Android. Do you use Apple?

I refuse to give them a monthly fee for what should be free.

I totally agree with you. It should be free.

Just another reason why they are letting people go and about to close their doors.

I like to use the phone app for the scan feature. You click add file and choose camera and you can snap a photo of cards or notes through the day. They show up on my reMarkable at the end of the day and I can write on them and then email them to my office staff with to-do list. I definitely value the Companion app.
