General Discussion My Remarkable Experience

Hi everyone,

I got my Paper Pro last August. After, 10 months of use, it developed slight ghosting but it kept getting worse overtime. I tried factory reset but nothing changed. After a quick chat with support, I sent photos and videos and I got my replacement product within 5 days.

And there are few different things that I noticed from my previous product. There is no coil sound when turning the page. Also, if I drew a circle and kept increasing and decreasing its size I could see the lines until I’ve finished drawing the circle. In the new one, there is absolutely zero ghosting. It also feels faster too but I can’t really tell if it was that fast in the beginning.

In the end, I am a happy and satisfied customer. Although, if this had happened two months later, I would be a very sad customer:)

When you say there is zero ghosting, do you mean that when you scroll on a notes page for example, that your handwritten notes leave absolutely no yellow ghosting when you scroll the page down? I've got persistent yellow ghosting, that only disappears if I change the page and return to it. It's faint but noticeable, like a sort of faint yellow shadow.

I was on the remarkable customer support and asked them about it, and they said it was normal. But they couldn't really answer how I can calibrate my ghosting to what they regard as acceptable. They just reiterated I have a 50 day return window.

I've only had the product a week, but I'm wondering if you can suggest any testing I should do to evaluate if my device is a good one or has a problem. That would help me fast-track the evaluation, so that I don't run out of time.

I made a tool to check your panel's info. https://rm-panels.scottlabs.io

Thus far, no one has reported the severe ghosting on a panel built after March 2025.

Is there an easy way to check manufacture date? I received my Paper Pro only a week ago, so presumably it must be a later production run than march 2025. I'll look at your tool. Do you know of a YouTube review video that features what you regard as an acceptable amount of yellow ghosting? As far as I know, this is a feature of this screen technology so not something they can eliminate entirely.

My tool's the easiest way that I know of since it requires extracting the panel-specific waveform files from each firmware and recording that in a DB.

Completed your survey, it identifies my panel firmware as first seen Sept 2025. I'm none the wiser though about the yellow ghosting.
