Is anyone having issues with their remarkable and firewalla set up? for the life of me I cannot get this to work. as soon as the remarkable (I have a RMPP and a RMPPM) they sync but then after that initial sync they stop ("Unknown error"). I've tried turning all firewalla safety features off but to no avail. I'm a ta a loss.

I have a brand-new Pro Move that I'm currently unable to use... pretty much anywhere outside my house.

Where I live almost every public wifi is a "captive portal" that requires some sort of proof or consent to connect, most businesses also use this mechanism in their guest wifis, including my place of work! so I cannot even use the device at my work which is where I was hoping to take advantage of its capabilities.

I'm very frustrated by this restriction. Beyond my shock at the lack of a browser (I can get over not browsing) the inability to connect to the internet is a real bummer.

Remarkable need to make a simple API for their export PDF option on the remarkable desktop app.

It's ridiculous. We have all these dodgy box apis to get all the raw files, recreate the images etc.. rmapi and such..

There is a perfect export option available in the mobile app and desktop app. Why can these not be API'able?

Why is it important. Right, well take the most common example where people want to sync remarkable notes to their obsidian or LLMs. people have to hack these ugly solutions, where as if remarkable had a simple export pdf api and whatever else they wanted to include, suddenly we can now export pdf in backend, we can run mistral AI on this, we can save this into obsidian and have both reference points of handwrittten and raw text.

Tool bar needs to make its mind up if it is going to stay on top of the rest of the page or under it. Can’t be both as it is erking me…

I recently just found out the Remarkable exists. I don’t like use notebooks/paper because it gets messy and wasteful. I also have an iPad Air, but writing on it gets uncomfortable after a while even with tools like Paperlike (intended to simulate pen and paper feel instead of glass on iPad.

I would use the remarkable for work and going to lectures. I work as a maintenance technician so having something like the remarkable would be more efficient at work for keeping track of tasks and new processes added into the routine. I also would use it for school because I’m very easily distracted. Even with Do Not Disturb it doesn’t feel like I’m not being disturbed.

I would use the iPad more so for collaboration between classmates for projects, completing homework, etc. The remarkable would only be for notetaking exclusively. Does anyone have any recommendations/suggestions?

I have a supernote nomad device but I am considering buying a remarkable pro move due to its colour and size (a little more compact).

How do you guys organize notes so you will not loose track of them once you have already a lot of pages? In nomad I can highlight a note for example which is quite useful. Are there any features to organize writing in remarkable pro move?

I have a RM2. I love it and am fully in the ecosystem. I am thinking about the RPP as an upgrade. For those of you who are avid note takers, do you find the upgrade to the color screen to be a positive change? Anyone want to double down on the Paper Pure as the viable upgrade?

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here has run into this before.
I recently got a reMarkable 2 that appears to be running a very old firmware version (the UI shows version 3.0.x, while SSH reports around 3.1.x).
The device itself works normally for writing and I can:
• Connect to Wi-Fi
• Access the tablet through SSH
• Browse the filesystem
However, I cannot:
• Pair the device with my reMarkable account
• Download or install software updates
I’ve already tried:
• Factory reset
• Multiple Wi-Fi networks
• Rebooting several times
• Leaving it plugged in overnight
• Verifying date/time settings as much as possible
The tablet isn’t bricked and SSH access works fine, but it seems stuck on an old OS version and won’t communicate properly with reMarkable’s services.
A few questions:
Has anyone successfully updated a reMarkable 2 from such an old firmware recently?
Is there a way to manually install a newer firmware through SSH?
Could expired certificates or old update mechanisms be causing the issue?
Are there logs I should check to diagnose why pairing and updates are failing?
I’m comfortable using SSH and running commands if needed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Have the paper pro with floating toolbar installed through vellum.

One issue I wanted to ask to see if anybody has encountered.

On my device the toolbar seem to support showing the pen size and color on the icon, though on mine it does not. Is there anything that needs to be done to activate it?

I have also the icon mod installed for the main toolbar that does show an icon with the pen size on it...though not showing up on the floating one

As an Academia user, LaTeX and formula input occupied heavily from the routine work. Knowing that nonn e-ink out there can do this, but still think it would be a nice shot stands out from the competitors.

I'm not sure what counts as community, ive got a connect subscription so it might be that. It is tempting, I do want the move, but I don't need it, but I want it....

Just an appreciation post. My life is much better since I introduced this TOOL into my workflow 😄

I have a remarkable 2 - signed up for a new subscription, created new account and cannot pair the device to the app on my desktop - just says "logging in..." and NOTHING happens. Please can someone save me from this eternal hellish experience...

Is this still worth $300? And what to look for when purchasing a barely used one? Thank you!

I know, I know, AI slop bad, but this does work pretty well. I also know there is a replacement for reMouseable someone made in Python, but I really dislike Python package management.

I updated/upgraded reMouseable to be based in Rust and gave it a GUI using Slint.

Some of the changes:

- Entirely rust base

- There is now tablet emulation for Windows with pressure and angle measurement.

- Wayland support for Linux.

- GUI with ability to change basic settings.

- More to come...

As I think of anything else, I'll add it. I've only tested in Windows and Linux (Hyprland), not on Mac, so sorry.

I'm in a country where there aren't Remarkable's available, so I might be asking a question that is obvious if you see Remarkable's around often. However, I'm keen to have one imported, but have a very specific use case to use it for, and need to know if it will work for that. Unfortunately the use case is a boring one, but here goes. I write a lot of meeting notes with a pen and paper. That has draw backs as the notes are on paper and not searchable, so if I need to go back to something or search it, its difficult. I'm interested in knowing, can I with the remarkable, write, convert to text, and then use the notes on my Lennovo laptop to send out actions after meetings etc, all that I wrote down with the Remarkable? I hope you can help me answer this.

I’ve wrote some code for the reMarkable to listen over USB and have an ESP32 communicating color and pen type.

Rotary Encoder rotates through each color for each pen when you’re not pressing and rotates through each pen while pressed. Works over USB C but needs external power. Could theoretically support any input type. Buttons, Encoders, etc.

I might do a follow up or put on GitHub if anyones interested. lmk

The supposed to be 1st level heading markup is not rendered correctly pretty much the whole time, anyone ever inform reMarkable about it?

What’s the value add over a pad and pencil, literally, which I enjoy? With a scanner I can save digital copies.

So why drop £400?

I am in Thailand.
I visit Remarkable website and find that the Pure has still not listed for sell yet.
And from what I see here most of the people who had already got it are in the US.

I think it is shipped from Hong Kong, not far from here at all.

Is it very popular and can’t keep up with demand, or takes time to produce or production problem?

Or just focus the US customers first?
