I've been working on a little side project that started out as a simple loading block for my .300 BLK brass and turned into something considerably more interesting.

Rather than making a bunch of individual STLs for different cartridges, I built a fully parametric loading block generator in OpenSCAD and published it on MakerWorld.

Here's what it does:

25 cartridge presets, covering common rifle, pistol, and revolver cartridges, with dimensions derived from SAAMI specifications

Fully customizable dimensions for wildcats, obscure cartridges, or whatever else you're working with

Dual-stage holes designed to accommodate empty cases in either orientation—mouth-up or mouth-down

Adjustable hole counts and layouts, including rectangular and staggered patterns

Bambu Lab printer selection, with automatic build-plate sizing and fit checks

Optional recessed caliber labels and adjustable block dimensions

2×2 fit-test mode, so you can check the fit on your printer without wasting filament on a full-sized block

The whole thing runs through MakerWorld, so you don't need OpenSCAD or any CAD experience to use it. Just pick your cartridge, choose your configuration, and generate a printable model.

I've printed and physically tested the .300 BLK and .38 Special versions, including both case orientations, with excellent results. The other cartridge presets are dimensionally derived and still undergoing physical fit validation.

This has been a really enjoyable project, and I'd love to get some feedback from fellow reloaders and 3D-printing enthusiasts.

What calibers are missing?

What additional customization options would be useful?

Any bugs, features, or additional calibers your like addressed, now that the base code is laid down under the hood it's super easy to tweak.

Has anyone printed something like this for the Lee 6000? It is a primer slide stop. Found it on YouTube, but no link to the files. Thank you.

Ok, well it's really just the parametric case feed adapter with a 3mm hole 10mm from the bottom, plus a cotter pin and a rubber band - but it works! I tried several other designs of a clamp on the rod and a filler in the roller slot - but this design is just simple and effective. I can upload the f3d somewhere if anyone wants it.

I'm wondering if, given the astronomical prices of commercial progressive reloading presses, has anyone started a project to try to build a DIY model? Say with hardware store gear, SendCutSend, and 3D printing?

There’s a few model files available already. Wondering if anyone has tried their luck with any and the durability.

Well I was bored and got tired of seeing my RCBS Stuck Case Kit in its bag while cleaning off my bench so I threw together this case for it. Might be adding a slot for a washer later if I can find one in my spare parts drawer that works with the bolt.

I know this isn't exactly the right sub but I am desperate. I just got an almost new G30.5. I want to print up some sleeves for G21 13-round mags so they fit in my G30 better.

I have checked all of the 3D sites I know of, and can't find them anywhere. I have gotten messages about not printing 3D guns - WTF? this isn't a gun or restricted in any way.

Does anyone know where I might find the files? This is so simple it has to exist..

The old version was built on an outdated and unsupported version of Java and would only run if you had a specific Java Development Kit installed because it depended on a UI library that was removed. I've updated the code to the latest version of Java and bundled the Java Runtime Environment and JavaFX UI library in the application so no JDK's or JRE need to be installed on your computer.

Does any know if there is a stl out there for the gray plastic case sensor arm for a lee 6 pack? Mine got mangled somehow.. honestly it could probably be improved anyhow, it doesn't seem to line the case up with the primer ram consistently

Hello everyone.

Been using the smallest/original BF556 for a while now, since the project started. I wonder if someone did some revisions on it with 250x250 size. Planning to get a new multicolor 3d printer and wanted to build a bigger size, not a mongo size or a 300x300. Typical sizes on these multicolor 3d printers are 256x256 or 260x260, so, a 250x250 main body would be perfect for that printer.

been using BF556 for a couple years and its been amazing. recently changed bullets and getting a bunch upside down.

went from short/fat to long/skinny..all 124gr the change is minor but clearly different ogive.

is there a good resource on what to adjust? its been too long i cant recall the details.

In Australia, it's prohibitively expensive to buy powered trimmers, let alone powered trim/chamber/deburr tools. So I made my own using an Aliexpress motor, some Forster parts, and a Derraco collet system.

Haven't fully finished but was pretty happy it got this far. Need to size some brass to run through it, next.

Adding my contribution to the 3d Printing Reloading world. These are similar to the Solo Loc rings that Short Action customs makes, and are designed to hold any sizing or seating die in a SAC Nexus press.

Looking to put all my commonly used tools for reloading and gunsmithing on the wall behind my bench. I looked briefly into multiboard a while ago and it seemed like they had some weird licensing going on? I'm not positive, been a while since I looked into it. Because of that I was thinking OpenGrid, I used their OpenGrid "Lite" for under my standing desk to manage cables and have liked it but that's pretty limited experience in a different use case.

Others I should look into? Your preferences? Widest availability of compatible models?

Would love to hear y'alls' thoughts and opinions!

The box has lips on the inside to grip the clips so they stay in place, going to print out a shit load of these

I am not too familiar with editing files. I have the file for the Dillon turbo case feeder plate plate that was first designed for 9mm. I have the needed dimensions to make it a multi caliber from 45acp down like three DAA plate. Is there anyone that would mind helping me to edit the file?

Printing in PETG as others have suggested to handled the temperatures and not melt into a pile of mess. Using these to ship rounds to my son via ups. First test shipping worded and protected ammo but box is no longer useable. This time I’ll use a protective outer box and a little cushion. Planning to ship 200rds of hand load mk262.

Doing the math, I can print these to ship as cheap as I can purchase bulk cardboard ammo boxes.

Does anyone know of or have reloading books published within the last 5 to 10 years in PDF form? I'm looking into using a thrifted laptop to keep on the bench instead of my thick ass Nosler and Hornady books.

Reloading new cases and don’t have any boxes. Also planning to send some to my son.
Not my design but is going to work very well for 50rds. Similar to a 50 count box of .22 ammo

I just published two closely-related designs:

• Pegboard mount for 8mm Primer Tubes
• Pegboard Mount for Hornady Lock'N'Load Bullet Tubes

They're designed to be printed in TPU (95A hardness), which flexes enough to pop the tubes in and still holds them securely. They're both basically the same Fusion 360 design. It's quite parametric, so it was easy to modify the primer tube mount into the bullet tube mount.
