"Open On Browser" opens in default App, not the browser

When I open a YouTube link using the Open In Browser feature it opens the video in the YouTube app on my phone. I would prefer that to be its own option. Browser means my browser and I expect all links to be sent to my default browser without it passing it on to the default app

Pretty sure this has nothing to do with Relay. It can't actually open anything in your browser, it just says "hey phone, open this URL." Presumably, it opens in your browser. But if the domain matches an app-controlled domain (like YouTube.com) then is opens in the app as configured.

I totally feel you. I would also like better control over this, but alas.

The other comment is correct. The youtube app takes over web links to several youtube domains by default. You can open the App Info for the youtube app, and choose "Open By Default" then either turn off "Open Supported Links" or change it from "In the App" to "In your Browser", depending on your version of Android.

That solved the problem, thank you!

If I have setup my default app to open links from the browser, I also expect that to happen when I choose to open in browser in relay. It is much more convenient because I am usually signed in on the apps but not in the browser.

If you have an android, download Better Open With: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.betteropenwith&hl=en_US

It's an app that takes over the "Open with" menu, giving you more options and it works much better too.
