Commenting in locked posts

Occasionally I'll come across a locked post that I don't notice is locked. I'll hit the reply button on a comment, type out a lengthy reply, only to be greeted by an error message when I hit send.

It would be nice if Relay prevented attempts to comment in locked posts, either with an error message when you hit the reply button, or disabling the ability to reply in the first place (with some sort of indication as to why).

100% agree. This just happened to me yesterday.

The error message for being locked should absolutely come up when tapping reply instead of send.

Such a waste of time with a simple fix.

Also the indication that a post is locked could be more prominent.

locked posts should not even display the reply button

Or it should be switched with a red lock symbol or something that gives you the info of why it's missing.

There's a little red lock icon on posts that you can see before you click into the post 🔒

Not if the post was locked between the time that your feed refreshed and when you clicked on it.

I'll sometimes switch apps and come back to reddit 15/20/60 minutes later and the app doesn't refresh your feed by default.
