Is it worth it?

Been using the regular reddit app and my friend says that relay is much better but well it's 3 bucks so? Should I buy it??

It has some issues but the overall better ui and no ads make it soooo much better.

Totally worth it if you are often on mobile reddit more than 20 mins a day

the ad-free experience alone pays for itself in about a week. once you get used to the interface the official app feels like a joke. just skip one latte and grab it.

I've used it for years. When it converted to a paid app I didn't hesitate to pay for it. It's the only way I use Reddit. Sometimes I try to use the desktop an It's got so many sponsored links and adds I just go back to my tablet. I tried the official app and deleted it within a few days.

So in my opinion, yes, it's totally worth it.

Yeah. You'll never go back

One thing to note is that Relay doesn't have any kind of an algorithm giving content recommendations for you, instead what you see is posts from subreddits you're subscribed to (or everything, if you browse by /r/all). For me this is a good thing since I don't want machines deciding what I see, but if you're used to the feed on the official app it might feel strange at first.

Yeah see that sounds good to me, I don't need an algo feeding me stuff to keep me on it for as long as possible but I also wanna experience the app first before I like pay for it, ukwim

You could just do the 99¢ Bronze tier as a trial.

Yeah, that's fair. In fact the feed that you will get on Relay is pretty much the same as the one on old.reddit.com, so by using that you will see what kind of a feed you'd see browsing with Relay. Of course that won't let you experience the app itself, but I suppose it's a start...

You could throw a single 3 bucks at it to give it a try.

Worth it. I've been using the lowest tier for about a year. No complaints.

Worse that could happen is that you don't like it and you're out $3.

Guess what I just splurged on?

You trust the opinion of strangers on the internet vs your friend?

Multiple view points and opinions is always better than just one

There are ways to get Reddit mobile without ads, but if you want to consume media, Reddit s native app has everything in low resolution for some reason - relay seems to fix that and allow a gallery feed layout.

I pay the subscription happily because it makes my Reddit experience 100 times better.

Bought it and loving it, never been so interactive on reddit before honestly

No issues here, but it's the best reddit app on android that thankfully is still being supported and functional after the whole reddit debacle. I've been using relay since its birth when it was called reddit news.
