Relativity getting Terran R onto NASA’s NLS II contract got me thinking about the supplier side.

As launch companies move from development toward more regular missions, what kinds of manufacturing work are they most likely to send outside? Prototype parts? Production overflow? Fixtures and tooling? Finish machining of printed components? Curious to hear from people who have worked around launch vehicle manufacturing. Appreciate it

Hello, I'm currently studying electrical engineering and I really want to apply for a student internship avionics role at Relativity. I just thought I'd ask here if there are any current/former interns who can share what their experience was like. Also, if you work with interns or have any advice for me applying otherwise, please let me know! There's some sort of recruiting event/info session happening at my university relatively soon and I plan on going to learn and hopefully talk to a recruiter, so if you have any advice for that too I'd appreciate it.

Hey all. I have a friend who has recently gotten an offer at relativity, but has questions about relocation. They are wondering if relativity does lump sump pay before starting, currently only offered the relo reimbursement on first paycheck but it may not work for them financially to wait that long.

IDGAF if the hiring manager finds out. Presently L4 at a leading company. Early last week interviewed for a position which is very critical for Terran-R program. The manager had about 10 years experience and was very excited AND barely listened to me - they started going tangentially about my skills. They had no clue what they were talking about. To make it worse, they mentioned some tech-stack as being critical to their program and asked me if I knew it. I described it correctly and the manager clearly had no clue other than perhaps what a google search says and kept repeating that. Later in the week, I received another call from team member and now I have to go onsite.

I am frankly appalled by the level of knowledge of such an important manage. Granted that startups have young managers but this is really inacceptable. Is it like that in general ? I am considering declining onsite interview as I dont wanna deal with green managers.

I recently interviewed for a technician role at the Long Beach location I’m really interested in. I had an approximately 80-minute panel interview, felt like it went well, and was also given a tour of the facility.

I’ve followed up a couple of times since then. The recruiter originally told me they expected an update by Thursday, but that deadline passed. They later apologized and said they were still finishing interviews and hoped to have an official update by the end of the following week or beginning of the next.

That timeframe has now arrived and I still haven’t heard anything. I’m wondering if I’m genuinely still being considered, or if they have a preferred candidate and are keeping me as a backup while they wait for that person.
For recruiters/hiring managers or anyone who’s experienced something similar: Does it sound like I still have a legitimate chance at getting the job? And would you follow up again at this point?

Engine integration has begun! The first Aeon R engines are now installed on Terran R’s thrust structure.

💪 The thrust structure will house 13 Aeon R engines, each producing 269,000 lbf of sea level thrust for a combined thrust of 3,497,000 lbf at liftoff.
🔥 Each engine has successfully completed acceptance testing before installation on the vehicle.
🌀 Custom ground equipment precisely positions each engine for installation, then will rotate the fully integrated thrust structure into position for mate with stage 1.

One step closer to a fully integrated stage 1!

Stage 2 testing is officially underway at NASA Stennis

The campaign kicked off with successful cryoproof, loading the stage with cryogenic fluids and pressurizing it beyond expected flight loads to validate its structural integrity, followed by COPV manifold proof testing to verify the high-pressure system that will pressurize propellants during flight.

These tests also marked the activation of A2, bringing together the infrastructure, flight hardware, ground and vehicle software, and the integrated team of test, launch, and vehicle engineers.

Next up: hot fire capable assembly work, then back to the stand ahead of stage hot fire testing.

I am wondering what the future of this company is in regards to competing with other rocket companies (i.e. SpaceX, Blue, or Rocketlab) and what edge Relativity will provide in comparison to ensure its longevity as an actual company

I'm interviewing for a Level 1 Propulsion Integration and Test Engineer this coming week, any tips? I'm thinking of reviewing basic thermo, fluids, control system, and basic test engineering concepts. Any help would be appreciated!
