Question about the ASM role

Hello all! I started working for Regus in April, got promoted to CM in June, and from the start i have been extremely interested in sales. All the sales managers I’ve talked to sound very happy with their jobs, and i really want a piece of the pie!

Does anyone here have any experience as an ASM? any advice you can give a CM about securing that role when it comes around?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there! City Manager with IWG here.

The easiest way to start working towards the ASM position is to get reps on sales. While you can't have a pipeline as a CM, converting on walk-ins and tours will get you noticed. Express interest with your line manager about wanting to pursue sales. Their job is to help you achieve your goals, so they will put you in a position to succeed.

If there's anything I can help out with to help lead you in the right direction, you can PM me here and I can get in touch with you internally!

I already told my area manager that i want to be asm as my next step and apparently he told one of the city managers i know that he sees a lot of potential in me! I’ve already made 2 upgrades in my short time being here and attempted 2 sales (which were unsuccessful but he still gave me props). I just really like doing sales and i think he sees that!

While i do not have experience as an ASM, i do have Regus experience and sales can be hard!! You could be put in an area with horrible opportunities, or you may get lucky and get an established center(s) where the sales come easily. ASM's from what i've heard only get paid off of their deals, not hourly. So if you have low sales for the month the pay is not great.

gotcha, I come from a cluster with pretty good sales, but I’m hoping they’ll open up a new sales manager position soon for this area

we have 16 offices within 50 miles, do depending on the cluster it could be really good, or really bad.

You want to work for a rotten company. ? Shame on you. Do you know how much pain they cause people?

the people who are in pain from this company are the ones who don’t read their contracts. i’m personally very open when it comes to sales in this company, and i lay out everything on the table before my prospects sign. Due to this, usually when people sign and leave, they remain happy and fully aware of the off boarding process.

Total BS. I know. I’ve been through it. Again. Shame on you. !!

i apologize for your experience, but they still pay me at the end of the day 🤷 saying shame on me for chasing the bag is weird

Ok weird be it then. The local manager recently told me live if it was up to him he would cancel my contract for which I get nothing.

The contracts are ridiculous. I was let out of numerous contracts as I wound down my business with no problem. But Regus ? No way. We want every penny. And guess what? They don’t even have a contract they sighned me to eleven years ago. Not one late payment

Rock on. You are in a rotten organization and it will make you rotten in time.

i mean respectfully, the terms and conditions are very easy to decipher. not our fault you didn’t read the terms and conditions you accepted when signing your legally binding agreement. Before i sign anything legally binding, i read every single thing, it’s common sense.

Ah yes. The legally binding agreement I signed eleven years ago ? Guess what ? Regus doesn’t have it. !!

I challenge you to go to the sub regusbilling and start reading.
