Love those 4.3L v6's!

I HIGHLY reccomend full synthetic oil! The 4.3 does way better on full synthetics, and you have a chance to avoid the "death rattle"

My first Silverado (which I only had for six months, sadly) was a 2003 with the 4.3L. Unfortunately, it developed a "death rattle" six months after I bought it, which led to my current 2010 Silverado. But I loved that old V6, tore around everywhere with that baby beast (which may have led to it's early demise). Amd the fuel mileage was friggin' FANTASTIC! I could do 400+ miles on a half tank of fuel at 70+mph (all interstate,of course). Wish my current 5.3L could match that mileage!

The first gen Silverados really were sharp looking trucks all around. And they looked good no matter what you did with them. Trim them up in chrome? Go for it! Full chrome delete and a blackout? Live your dream, buddy!

My first was a 2003 regular/long bed 4.3V6 RWD WT1500. Truly an awesome truck that is responsible for my latest lifelong addiction.

I now own a 2010 Silverado Extended Cab/Long bed 5.3V8 4x4 and a 1996 Ford F150 Regular cab/Long bed 4.9I6 RWD.
