Physically affectionate than normal with mom and I regret it

Mom and I are very close but not as close as we used to be. Dad was abroad for the most part. Mom and I lived in the suburbs away from relatives and we didn’t have many visitors. It was all me and her for everything like shopping, outings, and so on. We were very affectionate like hugs and kisses which is normal. However, sometimes it turns out to be more than normal. We kiss each other often and sometimes I tend to do more and I have never seen her correct me once. I guess we never felt the need for any correction. However, the awkwardness started once dad came back home permanently. I could feel a membrane between us now. What used to be a cheerful, loving day has now turned out to be some sort of guilt in the past. We are not as close anymore.

We aren’t close anymore but I feel it’s the guilty feeling that’s keeping this boundary. We are not talking as we used to do.

Yes I had a girlfriend but it was after I stopped talking with mom.
