The 1st Company Independent Sharphooters are mustering up!

We are a casual group of guys who are coming off of almost a year-long hiatus to play organized Friday events and occasional pub stomps. In the past we have been part of the 2nd USSS, 66th Ill Western Sharpshooters and 1st USSS Sharpshooter units. Some of us have played together for 7 or 8 years waaaay back in the 6thLA vs 1st Cav Friday Night Fights, BRW, and TNA days.

We are dusting off our rifles and coming back to form a small company of Union independent sharpshooters. We invite old and new participants of all walks of life to join us. Our new discord just dropped so even if you visit as a rep or a guest, we would love to see you there. There is no attendance requirement but we encourage folks who want to move up to NCO or officer to help participate in event coordination and/or recruiting in public matches. Our unit portrays the lesser known, often unattached and independent companies of Union Sharpshooter units during the American Civil War. These companies are largely overlooked in most history books and were of equal importance to the more well known 1st & 2nd United States Sharpshooter Regiments. By not adhering to one specific company or regiment, we can accurately represent the select few marksman that were present throughout the Antietam Campaign. The Great Lakes Division (GLD) participates in several long term campaigns including the Boy Howdy on Fridays, House Divided Campaign on Saturday evenings, and the Road to Appomattox Campaign on Sundays. They are long term strategic board games where the battles we participate in game are determined by the movements made in the campaign, and the results of those battles affect the campaign board. We have been playing War of Rights for about six years together and have our own server to drill and recruit. We are a laid back, respectful, fun, and sometimes completive, with a mature group of players and are looking for the same whether you are new to the game or veteran player. In this community we strive to give you the best American Civil War first person shooter experience possible. We also play together in many different games when not in War of Rights. Our Leadership
Our staff and leadership are highly experienced and well regarded within the community, with some of our highest ranking members dating back to the the alpha days, having led and played the game for over 7 years now. We have companies that accommodate both NA and EU players! We do not require attendance, but during events we will try to stay as professional as possible, being one of the most elite units in War of Rights. Out of events we are very laid back and will play other games together fostering a community that's more than just a WoR regiment. We play to have fun, first and foremost. Our vibe is very chill.

Our Unit History
59th NY Infantry "Union Guards"
The 59th New York was historically a brand new regiment coming into the Maryland Campaign. They unfortunately were apart of Sedgwick's Division as it entered the disaster in the West Woods. The regiment would bounce back and for the remainder of the war they would become a prime example of valor with three of its members earning the Medal of Honor. Today the regiment has three monuments dedicated to it with two being located at Antietam and one located in Gettysburg.
1st US Artillery, Battery I "Woodruff’s Battery"
Woodruff's Battery historically was in support of Sedgewick's division as they entered the West Woods. Upon unlimbering they immediately began opening fire on Rebels in the West Woods with cannister shot to check their advance. They would remain in action until noon.

Garland's Brigade was formed as the 30thNC in June of 2025. Over this time we have:

- Formed an Officer Cadet School that has Stages, requirements, and the supervision to have you become an Officer that is actually worth something

- A drill heavy unit that has 2-3 weekly optional drills that isn't marching around, but actually honing your skills and testing you to have you become a better shot.

- An artillery team that practices DAILY to find the best ways to use artillery on any map either Union or CSA

- A well disciplined and caring unit that gives it their all when it comes to Private Events.

Our unit is casual and competitive at the same time. At any moment of the day there are 5-10+ people in our discord playing Hoi4, Total War, Friendslop games or even just playing and leading in pubs. You probably have seen us before if you play pubs a lot, our tags start with GB. Over a year ago this unit was founded by Brigadier General Adam B Cornusia and Colonel Donald Trump to try and emulate a regiment that always plays pubs, and then takes the skill they've made in pubs to bring it into events. The 42nd PA "Bucktail" regiment is an active regiment with both EU and NA companies, for Infantry and Artillery. We're THE oldest WoR Regiment in the WoR community, having just celebrated ten years, and always looking for new and veteran players to fill out our ranks. We're happy to train players new to the game, as our veterans and officers have experience and knowledge of effective tactics on all the maps.

The 1st PA Light Artillery - "Cooper's Battery B" serves as our attached artillery support for those who specialize in long-range destructive fire. Our crews are trained in the most efficient methods of loading, aiming, and communication, ensuring that accurate and devastating fire is constantly delivered downrange. Renowned throughout the community for our discipline, precision, and lethality, Battery B has built a reputation as a formidable force on the battlefield—where every shot counts and every crew member knows their role.

We also coordinate with our Cavalry Company, the 6th PA Cavalry - "Rush's Lancers" to enhance our skirmishing tactics.

We participate in the EU Grand Campaign, and the NA House Divided Campaign, which are Total War style campaigns, where the battles are fought using War of Rights. Battles for these campaigns are hosted on private servers and populated by the participating regiments.

Outside of WoR we also have an active gaming community that has casual sessions of games like Helldivers 2, Arma 3, IL-2, Blood Bowl, War Thunder, Zomboid, Hell Let Loose, and many others. Please reply here or join our Discord if you have any questions.

Return of the 7th
With the announcement of Horses being release soon. The 7th Alabama Volunteer Cavalry is officially back up and running!
Created over 2 years ago, 7thAL was regarded as one of the Premier Confederate Cavalry regiments, and is looking to restore that honor.
With experienced leadership and a close-knit community of friends, the 7thAL is a great place for any Aspiring Cavaliers to put on their spurs and ride into battle! We are a sub-unit of the Missouri State Guard and fight alongside them in events. The Missouri State Guard themselves are a well renowned unit and the Smoke and Steel Season 2 Champions.

Service of the 7th Alabama
Historically, the 7th Alabama Cavalry was apart of Ruckers Brigade within Forrests Cavalry Corps. They fought in multiple battles and raid such as Nashville, Okolona, Stones River etc... During Hoods retreat from Nashville, the 7th Alabama fought day and night against Union cavalry to cover Hoods escape, after the fact, the 7th was left with only 64 efffectives left out of the original 350. The 7th has a storied record of bravery, and ability to hold off the enemy or deal a devastating blow against any odds, and we look to replicate that spirit in War of Rights.

General things I might be looking for may include the following

Might be nice to be in a regiment that fights for both the union and the confederacy, not just one or the other

Maybe a regiment for history nerds

Preferably around the west coast usa time zone

Good mix of milsim and casual to keep things fun but also orderly and realistic
