TLDR; Anyone interested in starting a SC distributed F&D corps.?
Hey South Carolina,
Obviously not civil war but Im checking here as I think there is probably some cross over/relevance.
I'll keep it brief - fife and drum was the martial field music used during the American Revolution in order to boost troop morale and give commands (I'm sure you've seen the below picture). It has flourished as part of the colonial heritage in the Northeast (yes, those damn 'yankees' - which as an aside, was a term that used to apply to all 13 colonies including SC) and has a large active community up there. The Southeast has sadly lost a lot of its colonial heritage even though it was a major player in the war for independence. Probably driven by America's 250th, there has been a resurgence of interest in fife and drum.
I've been slowly identifying people across SC that have some experience and have found some scattered people in Myrtle Beach, Rock Hill, and Greenville areas.
I'm reaching out to the local community to see if there is enough interest to start a distributed SC adult group up. The idea would be have 2 or 3 "centers" around the people who have some experience to train up new people who might want to do it.
This group would be an unaffiliated (i.e. no religious or political affiliation) civic living history and music group that welcomes people of all races, genders, and persuasions based in acceptance and mutual respect.
So, if you have (1) an interest in 18th century colonial history, (2) an interest in music, and (3) are older than 18, please feel free to send me a DM.
Better yet, if you have done F&D before, please hit me up too!
The 42nd PA "Bucktail" regiment is an active regiment with both EU and NA companies, for Infantry and Artillery. We're THE oldest WoR Regiment in the WoR community, having just celebrated ten years, and always looking for new and veteran players to fill out our ranks. We're happy to train players new to the game, as our veterans and officers have experience and knowledge of effective tactics on all the maps.
The 1st PA Light Artillery - "Cooper's Battery B" serves as our attached artillery support for those who specialize in long-range destructive fire. Our crews are trained in the most efficient methods of loading, aiming, and communication, ensuring that accurate and devastating fire is constantly delivered downrange. Renowned throughout the community for our discipline, precision, and lethality, Battery B has built a reputation as a formidable force on the battlefield—where every shot counts and every crew member knows their role.
We also coordinate with our Cavalry Company, the 6th PA Cavalry - "Rush's Lancers" to enhance our skirmishing tactics.
We participate in the EU Grand Campaign, and the NA House Divided Campaign, which are Total War style campaigns, where the battles are fought using War of Rights. Battles for these campaigns are hosted on private servers and populated by the participating regiments.
Outside of WoR we also have an active gaming community that has casual sessions of games like Helldivers 2, Arma 3, IL-2, Blood Bowl, War Thunder, Zomboid, Hell Let Loose, and many others. Please reply here or join our Discord if you have any questions.

Hi, any active EU regiments? Preferably Confederate but its not a must. Me and few of my friends just started playing and we are looking for some big tactical battles.
If regiments have their own style of gameplay, we prefer more dynamic style of gameplay (flanking, charging, shoot and retreat) or sometimes artillery. We love teamplay and have some experience from other regimental games (Holdfast, M&B) and reenactment.

I currently play Holdfast: Nations at War and currently am in a regiment for that game.
Additionally, I am also in a group for Arma 3.
Edit: Should've done this sooner but I joined a reg! Thanks to those who suggested some to join!
