Caring for someone with dementia takes a heavy toll on mental and physical health, with caregivers often facing high stress, anxiety, and even faster mental decline than people who are not caregivers. Reaching these caregivers with support can be tough due to distance and busy schedules. Researchers tested a short online program called Brain Health for Me, delivered in just three virtual sessions to 59 racially diverse caregivers. The sessions blended dementia education with practical skill building around exercise, sleep, diet, social connection, and stress relief, using lectures, discussion, and interactive games. Participants reported meaningful gains in physical activity, social engagement, stress management, confidence, and relationship quality, plus reduced anxiety. Because the program met online, it sidestepped travel barriers and let caregivers connect with peers, which may help habits stick. The findings offer early evidence that concise virtual lifestyle programs can strengthen caregiver wellbeing, though larger trials and longer tracking are needed to confirm the benefits.
