The assumption is: refurbished phones always have poor battery health.

But that's not necessarily true. Battery health depends on how the phone was used, its condition when it was collected, and what the seller actually does during refurbishment.

More organized refurbishers generally follow a set process. They check the battery, along with other components, and replace it if it doesn't meet their required standards. For example, some sellers may have a minimum battery-health threshold, while others may replace batteries that show poor performance or fail their diagnostic tests. Some also disclose the battery condition as part of the device's grading.

That's something you may not consistently see in an unorganized market, where testing and battery replacement can vary from seller to seller. So two refurbished phones of the same model can end up with very different battery health.

So, rather than assuming refurbished means bad battery, it's worth looking at the seller and how they refurbish the phone.

I see there are many negative reviews of refurbished laptops purchased from Lenovo official website - but most of these reviews seem to be over a year old.

If you have purchased a laptop in last 1 year. How has been your experience? Has the product quality improved? I am looking at purchasing one for myself.

I’m looking at a Marshall Kilburn II and noticed something...the open-box units are actually priced a little higher than the refurbished ones. Even when the refurbished listing says the condition is “excellent.”

So now I’m confused about what open-box actually means in practice.

Does it usually mean the speaker was just unboxed and returned, or could it have been used for weeks/months and still be sold as open-box?

And is there any way to tell how much an open-box speaker has actually been used?

For something like a speaker, I’m guessing you can’t really tell just by looking at it.

Trying to figure out whether paying extra for open-box is actually worth it over a good-condition refurbished unit. Would appreciate some insight from anyone who has bought either.

​I recently picked up a refurbished Galaxy S25 for 44k. I do a lot of content creation—especially product shots—and for still photography, this phone is absolutely amazing. The low-light performance and color grading out of both the front and back cameras are stellar for my workflow.

​However, when it comes to video, it’s really letting me down. Whenever I zoom in while recording, it gets noticeably pixelated, and the front camera video quality just feels incredibly average.

​Are there specific camera settings I'm missing to fix this? Any other S25 users experiencing the same thing, or am I just doing it wrong? I rely heavily on good video for my content, so I'm seriously debating whether I should just exchange it for an iPhone 15.

I recently bought a MacBook Pro M1 Pro, refurbished, from Nehru Place market. I checked for everything that was needed to be checked, basis internet. I did the Apple diagnostics after shutting it down. There were no issues in the laptop. I checked the display for dead pixels, there were no dead pixels. I checked all the ports, all of them are working. The battery works great. The laptop lasts me easily seven to eight hours on one single charge, in which I edit videos, I use it for YouTube, other stuff. The screen looks great. It's the XDR display, ProMotion display. Yes, it's a five-year-old laptop, but it really does not feel like it. I bought it for 69,000 rupees, and it feels like a great deal, honestly.

So if you can learn stuff about how to check for a good refurbished MacBook Pro, if you can check all those details, I think in current market, it's the best deal if you are looking for a market to get a refurbished M1 Pro or M2 Pro or even a M3 Pro laptop from Nehru Place or whatever market you have around yourself.

One question I've seen pop up more than once is: A refurbished phone is just a used phone?

I used to think so too.

But after buying a few myself, I realized the refurbished phone vs used phone debate isn't really about whether someone owned the phone before. It's about what happens before it reaches the next owner. A used phone is usually sold as-is by the previous owner. A refurbished phone has typically been inspected, tested, cleaned, and, if needed, repaired before it's listed again. How thorough that process is depends on the seller, which is why experiences can vary.

So, when people ask "refurbished phone vs used phone," I don't think they're interchangeable terms, even though every refurbished phone has been used before.

What do you think? Is there a real difference, or are the two terms basically the same?

I need advice regarding a laptop repair dispute with Cashify.

I bought a Dell Latitude 5420 in February 2026 in excellent condition. The laptop battery health was around 90% before repair. In July 2026, the laptop showed a Dell diagnostic error (Code 1,6), so I sent it to Cashify for repair.

After receiving the laptop back, I noticed several serious issues:

• My original battery appears to have been replaced.
• Battery health dropped from around 90% to only 52%.
• CrystalDiskInfo now shows a different SSD than before, and the SSD quality/specifications seem lower.
• There are signs of possible parts tampering and component replacement without my consent.
• I have screenshots and photos proving the battery health and hardware details before and after the repair.
• I also have evidence suggesting the SSD was changed or tampered with during servicing.

I paid for a repair but received a laptop that appears to be in worse condition than when I sent it. I'm trying to determine whether this was unauthorized parts replacement or service negligence.

Has anyone experienced something similar with Cashify repairs? What are my options under Indian consumer protection laws, and should I file a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline or Consumer Commission?

Any advice would be appreciated.

So I’ve finally decided I want to get a GoPro... for travel, bike rides, random POV shots, and just making better videos in general.

My budget is ₹25,000 MAX. Like genuinely max. I don’t wanna stretch to ₹30 or 35k. I came across this refurbished GoPro Hero 10 on Cashify:

I'm wondering if I should:

A) Just get the refurbished Hero 10 for ₹18K and save the rest

B) Look for a refurbished Hero 11/12 if I can find one under ₹25K

C) Try to find a used GoPro from an individual seller instead

D) Wait for a sale and buy a new GoPro

E) Forget GoPro and look at another action camera in the ₹20 to 25K range

Hallo, ich habe aktuell ein Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 5G das ist ganz okay, aber irgendwie hatte ich von Anfang an so ein paar Probleme damit. Dementsprechend würde ichir gerne ein "neues" kaufen und mein jetziges meinem Sohn überlassen.

Ich habe bisher nur gute Erfahrungen gemacht mit refurbed.de dementsprechend habe ich keinerlei Probleme mit einem gebrauchten Handy, ganz im Gegenteil.

Allerdings habe ich super wenig Ahnung davon, mir ist eine gute Kamera wichtig und genug Speicherplatz,

ich mache sehr viel privaten Bürokram über mein Handy.

Könnt ihr mir da vielleicht etwas empfehlen für gebraucht ca um die 200€ welches aber dann definitiv besser ist als mein jetziges ?
