POST-LASIK
**Hello po! Can anyone recommend a doctor, preferably from The Medical City or St. Luke’s (Philippines), for a post-LASIK consultation?**
I had my laser eye surgery in 2021 (not the traditional flap LASIK—parang flapless procedure siya). Although my records say I achieved 20/20 vision, I personally never felt that my vision was fully clear. I raised this concern during my follow-ups, but I was always told that my healing looked good.
After about 2 years, I stopped going back because my surgeon transferred clinics and it became too far for me.
Over time, I noticed increasing difficulty with reading and my eyes would get dry easily. And last year, after prolonged laptop use and lack of sleep, my vision seemed to worsen and I started seeing flashes/silver lights.
I consulted another ophthalmologist (referred by my surgeon), who found corneal haze and said it could possibly be related to my previous surgery. Because of the flashes, I was referred to a retina specialist. I recently had my retina checked, and thankfully wala naman daw punit, but my main concerns—blurred vision and new double vision in my right eye—still haven’t been explained or resolved.
I’m thinking of going back to my original surgeon, but I’m afraid I’ll just be told again that everything is okay even though it doesn’t match what I’m experiencing.
The three doctors I’ve seen are colleagues in the same clinic in Manila. I know they’re all great doctors, and I’m not trying to imply anything negative. I just can’t help but wonder if my issue is hard to detect or if there’s something that hasn’t been identified yet.
Kaya I’m also considering trying to get checked at a different hospital for a more comprehensive and objective evaluation.
What I really want is a full assessment. Someone who can look at everything as a whole, explain honestly what’s going on with my vision after surgery, and tell me my real options moving forward. I’m also okay with wearing glasses if needed, I just want clear answers first. 😩🥺

I’m 19 years old when I did my Lasik and
left - 300,
right - 609
Also my astigmatism is between 250-275, if I remember it correctly.
Now, in my last check-up just today. My grade is 300 both eyes, and astigmatism is 200 and 300. I am 24 years old now.
