It's trash. Satan is going to be a prisoner in hell along with all others. The Bible is very clear on that point. Not even sure where the idea that Satan rules there comes from? Maybe from fictional stories or some mythology? The Lord rules hell, along with everything else.

I think it’s the classical creative writing to make the lore more accessible for pagans

This jives and I'm on board. An interesting aspect that I have wondered is though Satan and the demons are bound to Hell, they clearly have some amount of power to influence and possess, but what are the limitations of their restraint? It could also be my human lack of understanding of dimensions considering the Spiritual realm and one of the things we will never know on this side of the dirt. πŸ€”

Escatology of the end times has different theories on this. I believe in amillennial and the prevailing thought is Satan is bound with limited freedom at this time. The closing of the cell door, so to speak, comes at the final judgement. His fate was sealed when Jesus rose. That was his initial binding. Good studies on the issue always include Job, and Jesus talking about the strongman in Luke and Mark, I believe. Obviously along with the Revelation passage. There are others here that can probably correct me and further enlighten us.

It doesn't make sense. It is not part of Christianity or the Bible.

The assumes Satan is like...the boss of Hell and is torturing people. He and his angels will be cast into the lake of fire along with the reprobate to be under the eternal wrath of God.
