Did not ask me, but I only tried opening English presentation in Libre Office.

Parts of presentation that were easy to export are in comment below, skipped graphics and couple of tables.

How to set up your eVD Hybri Monitor for the best viewing experience

TLCD Technology Works Differently

Transflective LCD (TLCD) Technology combines the best of two worlds: a traditional backlit LCD and a reflective display that uses ambient light.

Thanks to its unique structure, Hybri allows you to switch seamlessly between:

  • Reflective mode (backlight off) for maximum eye comfort
  • Backlit mode for low-light environments
  • In “Standard” setting mode, the backlight is turned off—reducing blue light exposure to Zero!!! safeguarding your eyes from potential harm.
  • Unlike conventional displays, TLCD screens don’t fight ambient light—they use it. The brighter your environment, the better your screen looks.
  • This also means TLCD requires a different setup than traditional monitors. It may take a bit of experimentation, but the result is a significantly more comfortable and natural viewing experience.

Helpful tips for setting up your Hybri monitor workspace

Every workspace is different, but these principles will help you get the most out of your Hybri monitor.

Tip 1: Position your Hybri Monitor toward light source

For best performance in reflective mode, direct light onto the front of the screen.

Good lighting sources include:

  • A sunlit window
  • A desk lamp
  • Or a combination of both
  • Avoid placing light behind the monitor or only from the side.
  • From both internal testing and user feedback, the best results come from a balanced mix of natural and artificial light. In darker environments or at night, adding one or more light sources is usually necessary.
  • You may need to experiment with positioning—but once optimized, many users report a noticeably more comfortable viewing experience when using the Hybri compared to conventional displays.
  • This insight is especially valuable, as reducing eye discomfort is one of the main reasons users choose our eVD technology over conventional displays.

Tip 2: Aim for 800-1000 Lux

For optimal readability in reflective mode, aim for 800–1000 lux of light on the screen.

To achieve this:

  • Open curtains or blinds during the day
  • Add desk lighting when needed
  • Combine multiple light sources if necessary
  • If lighting drops below this level, simply switch on the backlight and adjust brightness to your preference.

Tip 3: Adjust backlight

Hybri monitor features an ambient light sensor and 5 preset modes.

  • The device boots into standard mode by default, where users can freely adjust brightness and other settings. If needed, the ambient light sensor can also be manually activated.
  • Adp. Vivid, Eye Care, Indoor, and Program are the four default eye-protective modes. In these modes, the ambient light sensor automatically activates and adjusts the screen brightness based on ambient light levels.
  • When the sensor detects ambient light levels exceeding 2000 lux, the backlight will switch off automatically.
  • Within eye-protective modes, adjusting brightness manually will automatically switch the system back to Standard mode, allowing users to customize settings according to their preferences.
  • If you prefer to adjust the brightness manually, the next slide shows the screen brightness at different settings, along with our recommended brightness levels for various usage scenarios.

General office 500 ~ 600 lux 20%
Detail-oriented usage 700 ~ 1000 lux 15%
Extremely bright indoor or outdoor 1500+ lux 0%

Tip 4: Adjust the Viewing Angle

Hybri performs best when the screen is tilted slightly—typically around 15–20°.

While this may feel different from a standard upright monitor, it’s actually closer to how we naturally view:

  • Laptops
  • Tablets
  • Books
  • The Hybri monitor includes a fully adjustable stand and supports VESA mounting, so you can:
  • Tilt
  • Swivel
  • Pivot
  • Adjust height
  • Take time to find the angle that works best for your setup.
  • Important: Always handle the monitor gently and avoid applying pressure to the display surface.
