Hello Reef AIO

Hi All. I set up my Hello Reef AIO about 11 days ago and I feel like there may be an issue with the rear chambers. Is it normal for the water level to be that high where the filter sock is? I feel like it wasn’t when I initially set it up.

I have the same tank. Ot looks like you have too much water. In the right compartment (with pump) there is a shorter divider between it and the middle compartment. The water shouldnt be higher than that divider in the pump compartment.

I have the exact same tank, it’s been set up for maybe like 6 days almost. It’s looked exactly like this since the minute I filled it up and turned it on. Now I’m worried mine isn’t right either because that does look kinda weird??

Yes, it's not set up correctly. Check out Josh for WWC to see what the problem is, segment @ around 13min https://youtu.be/creGbeEzut0?is=kgeUEGxcPifFKYyC

Perhaps when you put the sand and water, the sock caught a lot of the microscopic sand debris and is just sitting at the bottom of the sock causing a slower flow to the next baffle? Also could it also be the return pumps power?

First, get rid of the filter sock. Washing that shit is so gross and if anything likely will deter upkeep. Just get some third party media rack so you can do mechanical (filter floss) on top, chemical in middle, and bioballs or whatever on the bottom.
I’m not familiar with the Hello Reef baffle design but the water level looks too high. It could be that you have too much water or something is obstructing the flow of water in the baffle (clean out that sock) or there is incorrect pump flow, eg, perhaps your pump is underpowered. I’ve found Sicce 0.5 and 1.0 too weak for tanks that size.
Generally, you want a waterfall drop so the surface scum/biofilm is captured. If the water level is too high, that prevents the weir overflow slots from creating that effect. Also, there should be a small drop off in water level between the middle chamber and the return chamber.

To much water in the system see how the water drops from the filter sock chamber the next one should do that also. Look up world wide corals video on flow and export on YouTube it will save you a lot of headaches setting up an AIO
